Stafford County Sheriff's office has trained therapy dogs.
They come to scenes where something traumatic has happened like a house fire, and kids or family members can snuggle with the dog for a bit while shit gets straightened out. I think they also go to CPS when a child has to be removed from the house on an emergency basis. They also have quilts that they give to kids and adults who have experienced trauma.
So something decent.

Did not know that. Really thoughtful idea and something that represents the best in law enforcement for a change, rather than the murderous thugs that grab all the headlines.

Agreed.
My quilt guild makes some of the quilts they carry in their car. They also make little blankets for the neonatal units at the hospital. The parents get them when their babies are big enough to hold. They hold the baby in the quilt, and when they leave, they put the quilt on the baby in the incubator so they can smell their parents. I guess being able to smell the scent of their parents help them to heal more quickly and bond with their parents better. Thought that was interesting.
