Corned beef was $6.49 now $2.36/lb while they last.

I got a nice 3lb one (point) at Wally two weeks ago. Don't remember what I paid but IIRC it was less than 10 bucks. Haven't felt like cooking this weekend so in the freezer it sits.

I may be going to hell for this, and my Irish grandmother (on my mother's side - the Irish grandmother on my papa's side would be too polite to whoop you in public), will kick my ass good. However, I detest corned beef and cabbage. I like cabbage, but there's a very fine line between cooked and mush, and the majority of people can't find it (including myself), and corned beef is just nasty.

I, too, am 60% Irish and despise corned beef. Even when I ate meat, I couldn’t eat that. Went to my childhood best friend’s wedding years ago, and they had a gorgeous side of beef on the buffet at the reception. Yep, corned. 🤮

Yeah that would be what you might call "a bit much".

I'm 0% Irish and gorged (over two days) on a 3.5 lb corned beef brisket (probably 1.5 was fat). And deelish sauteed cabbage, crisp-tender. And a baked tater.

My husband, who had beef every day of his life until he was hospitalized, was so excited when he saw that huge side of glowing beef. I laughed and laughed when he took the first bite.
I’m not big on cooked cabbage, either. I prefer mine in slaw. So I’ll just have the tater.

Thanks for the invite, Bob. (he said in a sarcastic tone)
