www.msn.com/en-us/news/politics/why-republican-voters-say-theres-no-way-in-hell-trump-lost/ar-BB1bcCNK?ocid=ientpThis is what we're up against. People who have actually received some sort of an education, who feel that Trump is the greatest patriot ever. And people who have actually received some sort of education who refuse to accept any universe in which Trump did not win, and are prepared to take up arms to defend their delusions. And yet others who say they'll accept the results, but only if they can see 'concrete proof' that they are valid. What does that even mean? Do they want to count the millions of ballots cast in their state themselves? All fueled by a despot's tweets and organizations like Newsmax that cater to their delusions.

Are you letting these fruitcakes into your space?
Me too.
Just remember THE MOST IMPORTANT FACT: On 1/20/2021 Donald J Trump and every last one of his administration will be gone. There is no amount of fruitcake gonna change that. Over.

Soon....sooon....sooooon!
My hourly mantra.
But I am I the only one who wants Biden to just say fuck it and release his plan for the virus now?
I'm thinking something along the lines of holding a press conference and saying that the health of our nation comes above politics, and that he is calling on every elected official, and every citizen to join him in doing A, B and C to combat this.
And it has to be more than "Everyone mask up!" too. His call to action should start with congress and the senate, go down to the state level, then the local level and end with a call to action for individuals.
Make it clear, but make it precise. And I think the individual call to action should assume that everyone is going to wear a mask, so ask people to step it up some and do something for another person who they aren't related to. Check on the neighbor who lives next door. Send cards to people who live in nursing homes and group homes and can't go out. Volunteer an hour of your time to deliver purchases from local businesses to people in your neighborhood so that small businesses can make it through this.
Of course, it doesn't matter how easy or sensible it is. Since the advice is coming from Satan himself in the form of Joe Biden, half of the country will do whatever they can to avoid doing any of it. Maybe Joe should do two separate addresses. One for the majority, and a second for the Newsmax population where he advocates for the opposite - whatever you do, never wear a mask, hug everyone you meet and don't help another living soul! Then those viewers would feel compelled to do the opposite because that's the 'right thing'

I don't want to have a shadow government or an "acting government" which actually seems more fitting, at least until the electors make it official. And even then, I feel like we're just begging for trouble by pitting the two against each other until the Constitutionally mandated transfer of office. That being said, there's nothing from stopping Biden from saying "this is my plan, this is how it will work, and these are the people I am charging with putting the plan in action".... and yes he can, and should, use his position as President-Elect to try to appeal to the people of this country of their specific responsibility to themselves, their families, and their communities. I love the saying that "no rights come without responsibility" but unfortunately that will fall on 70 million deaf ears. Fine. He can make it clear what he wants to see how that will translate to guidelines vs mandates. He can try to convince the fruitcakes that his plan will work with or without their cooperation but at the same time they can take the pill with or without the sugar, but they WILL take the pill come January 21. I would love to hear that old man say, "we aint fucking around any more".

I agree with you, but somehow I doubt the founding father ever thought that the elected leader of the country would choose to destroy the entire country rather than relinquishing power....OTOH, they were wise enough to realize that guns would become more and more efficient over time, requiring citizens to own dozens for protection, so there is that

The problem with all of that is he was destroying the country long before deciding to not relinquish power and the 2A was supposed to be for addressing both issues, not defending them.
Duchue.

What are you talking about guns for, Obama came and took them all, remember?
We are so beyond fucked. Putin must laugh so hard he wets himself. Half of us hate reality and will do whatever it takes to make shit worse. American exceptionalism strikes again. It's no mystery why we have terrible disease results, and fighting this pandemic requires things Mitch will ensure never happen. We needed a hard shut down months ago, with financial supports for the people, along with mucho testing and tracing. People being the lifeblood on an economy. But instead we'll soon be resuming evictions, watching the economy tank, watching ICUs max out, etc, because money is for the already wealthy and no company should be responsible for the shitty things they do. And this is all a conscious choice to avoid doing The Right Thing.
