There have been a few sheriffs that have been out on patrols for the show. Williamson, TX (or something like that. It’s a suburb of a large Texan town - Dallas? Austin? Can’t remember. But that sheriff did patrols. I was impressed that the sheriff gave up weekend nights on a regular basis. That was one of the counties that a LOT of military equipment. Annoyed the hell out of me. I can’t recall the others, but there are some more.
If they don’t stop cutting away from the k9s when they’re checking a car for drugs or searching, I’ll stop watching. Unless there’s nothing else to watch.

They did an offshoot a few years ago that was a competition. They brought in non-cops and their dogs to compete in k9 cop activities. They ran a course where they searched a car, then crossed a narro bridge over water. Then the searched a “house” (it was a set) for specific items and had to tackle a bad guy after exiting a house. They were graded on time, and how many of the items they found. It was fun! Kind of related: Olivia just earned her elite title in nose work! At 4 years old.

Can't remember the name of the show, but I think it may have been called 'That's My Dog' Reality show where people's dogs competed in different things like best trick to make it to the ultimate game - the maze! Agility course where the prize was a year's worth of dog food. The biggest feature of the maze was the dog food sand trap - giant pile of dog food in the middle of the maze. Was great to watch the dogs who detoured into it - their poor owners would be at either end of the course pleading for them to move

There were just 8 (by my count) cop cars with lights/sirens pass through on the road behind our house. So far the only little bits of info I can gather is they were heading into Holleybrooke which is our old hood right on the other side of that road. Possibly a swatting incident.
I fuckin hate encrypted police channels.

Me, too! When I lived on route 3 in “downtown King George, I got into listening to the scanner. Sirens were screaming by my house constantly! (I was catty-corner from the sheriff at the time. They have since moved. ) I kept it on all the time. Now, it’s only rescue calls. 🧐
Edited to add: Spotsylvania should have a CAD system. KG does and it’s available online so you can at least see what the call was.

The unit that took Spotsylvania’s spot is Brookford, NC. It’s a small town near Hickory (I worked with/trained a guy from Hickory. He was a huge Redskins fan but would root for other NFC East teams, which I thought was odd.). One of the guys they followed on Friday was the chief of police!

Swatting should be a felony charge with jail time. Good friend is the co-owner of Green Ronin Publishing (gaming company). She and her husband both know people who have been swatted - said it's one of the most terrifying things you can experience, especially if you have a family. Completely strips any sense of security you have. And people get swatted for really stupid-ass stuff too. Some guy gets pissed because you're better than they are at an online game and you casually noted that they should read the rulebook sometime. (yes, that happened to one of their friends - guy got a misdemeanor. Friend and his wife cancelled all social media accounts and stopped on line gaming. They also debated moving - if one asshole could do this, who know what the asshole's friends would to to avenge his arrest?)
Like I said - should be a felony with mandatory jail time. And when they're paroled, at some random point, the police should swat them - "Oh man, we're just fucking with you dude! No need to wet your pants like that...."

Still no official word.
Went to pick up scripts from Walmart at Southpoint (the one where ol boy took his shotgun into so he could get it fitted with shells a few weeks ago) and the place was completely surrounded by Spotsy's Finest. Business as usual for the other 100,000 people there, which was fucking weird. Still no idea what that was all about even though it seemed obvious to me, given that they were parked/standing outside of every entrance/exit that they were waiting on someone to come out. I wonder if they ever did.
Interesting times we live in. I see the FFX po po shot a shoplifter dead in Tyson's the other day. Word is he wasn't armed. Normally I would question that, but seeing that fucking asshole try to kill the teacher with his bare hands, I'll just digress on teh 100 bullet salute for the moment.

From what I've heard the Central Park Walmart is the place to hang if you're a cop looking to boost your arrest record on a Saturday night - easy pickins.
I actually do realize that people are violent and unpredictable. And that there are times when police will have no other choice but to use force, including a gun. My problem is two-fold: 1) The almost automatic assumptions that black men are dangerous/on drugs/have super-human strength. 2) The trigger happy 'pause' of less than 3 seconds between 'Stop or I'll shoot' (assuming you even get that courtesy) and being shot.
Dude in FFX wasn't armed and supposedly stole a pair of designer sunglasses. When he saw the cops he ran. After a chase, he was shot in the chest.
I get that the 911 dispatcher was told he was armed. And I get that he didn't immediately put his hands up when the cops arrived. So perhaps grounds for them unholdering a weapon. But the distance between them, even at the time he was shot was such that there was time for the officers (because by then there were more than 1 I believe) to assess. Plus, they had body armor and he didn't. Advantage: Cop!
I keep saying there has to be a middle ground somewhere. More and more, I despair of ever finding one.

I was unaware of the race and or ethnicity of the shoplifter, and really haven't followed it very closely as the DC news stations are garbage and unwatchable (I've only read about the shoplifter shooting on WTOP's website which has included some clips from the police pressers). I would expand on why I feel that way but don't want to start barking up that tree right now.
The middle ground is all but a faded memory of the way things used to be. Everything is black and white, literally, now and has almost nothing to do with right and wrong.

Weirdness tonight. On the replay of the show, there have been no ads! They break, but go right back to the show. Usually, the ads are interminable, especially during the last half of the 3 hours.

Well, it’s back to normal. Lots and lots of ads. The weird thing yesterday was not only did they skip all the ads during the show replay, they also kept replaying the show - even during the time they normally show infomercials.
The wanted segment last night was horrifying. A woman pulled up to a condo and jumped out, leaving her car running. A dude jumped in the car and sped off. Her 3 kids were in the car! As he made a turn to leave the parking lot, a baby sit flew out of the car. It was occupied by a toddler that was thrown out of the baby seat whe it hit the pavement. Amazingly, the toddler stood up and ran toward his mother.

That's scary as hell - how did the baby seat fly out of the car? Clearly it wasn't secured very well to start with. Glad the toddler was okay. I'm assuming they caught the guy and the other kids are back with mom too?

The guy was the one wanted. The incident took place somewhere in Washington state, but it wasn’t a town/county I recognized. The viewers are good about calling in tips so so hopefully someone will recognize him (they have a great photo from a security camera) and call it in. They’ve found a lot of missing people from tips from this show’s viewers over the years.

I only saw about 30 minutes tonight but t made me laugh out loud. In one instance, K9 Kai had alerted to the existence of drugs, so they searched both the driver and the car. Driver was being a tad uncooperative wile deputy was searching him, tensing up, questioning why he was doing this, etc. Then he tries to bolt. He tripped after about 3 steps and lands flat on his face with his pants down. 🤣🤣 What made this incident even funnier is there was music playing from somewhere that perfectly epitomized his attempted escape.
A few minutes later they switch to Daytona where there’s an extremely drunk woman screaming profanity on a beach. The deputy puts her in cuffs while she’s lying on the ground and tries to help her up but she kicks and screams and writhes so he leaves her there. All the while, all you can hear is “Bro, *beeeeeeeeeeeep beeeeeeeeeep!” 🤣🤣🤣

Last night it was guns, tonight it’s accidents. So many rollovers! And now there’s a report of a vehicle running into a structure. Plus, so many people without ID!
Edited to add: guy was under the influence of something. Said he was trying to avoid an oncoming vehicle, pulled into a stranger’s driveway and slammed into his carport, hitting his vehicle, home and storage shed. He asked the homeowner not to call the cops. 🤣🤣🤣. He’s suspended, too.

Lots of folks drive on suspended licenses. You'd be amazed. One of the youngest's friends dated a guy who was suspended for DWI. And yes, she let him drive her car. Got pulled over on 95 - she got a call at work saying that her car was being impounded.
Came crying to mommy to help her pay the fines. Mommy ended up coughing up some of it, because the kid (her daughter) needed to get to work, and she had co-signed the car note, so if DD didn't work, she could very well be stuck with the note for a car she doesn't want. Don't know if the kid stayed with the boyfriend or not (she and the youngest lost touch during the pandemic), but I bet mommy regrets co-signing that note.

Most people they stop on the show these days are suspended, never had a license, or are “sovereign citizens”. It’s mind boggling.

Whoa! Richland County has brought out all the toys. There’s an attempted murder suspect barricaded in a home. They have a drone, a robot AMD an armored vehicle out there with swat, k9s, and a lot of deputies.
