Went to their grand opening - they're down by Mason Dixon cafe on Princess Anne St.
First off, you need to get there before opening on restock day if you really want to find good shit it seems. People were walking out with all sorts of crap that wasn't there when I got to the top of the line (Cappuccino makers, designer sheets and the like).
Second, you need to be willing to be there for a while. They have wooden bins (about waist high) that they just dump stuff in - no sorting whatsoever, so you have to comb through the stuff to see if there's anything that interests you.
Last but not least, the store is small, so be prepared to wait in line outside for a bit to be let in if it's busy.
So, I thought it was kind of fun (like a scavenger hunt), but also depressing - so much shit. So, so much shit.
One box was full of nothing but hinges - probably a hundred of them - not door hinges - maybe cabinets?
Another item was an opened box of 1000 wax paper separators for hamburger patties.
A broken Mickey Mouse watch.
Lots of makeup brush sets missing a brush or two.
OTOH, I got a nice beach hat with one of those Lawrence of Arabia things to attach to the back so you can protect your neck.
A bag of 8 brand new men's wool socks (Mr. Minx was thrilled)
A waterproof travel backpack (Again, Mr. Minx)
A bike seat for me.
Rearview mirrors for my bike (they may not fit, but worth a try)
Two Disney Pillow Pets (Mickey and Minnie - Empowerhouse was there collecting donations, and was thrilled to take them off my hands)
Every item $7.00
Everything goes down to $5.00 today and by Tuesday it will $1.
Then on restock day (Friday) the prices go back to $8.00 and start counting down again.
Was interesting, but if I go again, I'm going to have a more targeted list of stuff to look for so I hopefully don't end up leaving with a bag of crap.
