Not the FOX show.
This show is on Oxygen and the second season has started. It’s fascinating. It is a show that focuses on 911 Center in Ohio. All involved are real 911 operators.
One of the recent calls:
A woman called and sad a man went into her bathroom and won’t come out. He’s been in there over 45 minutes. While an operator dealt with her, another call came in. A man says he had an appointment at a hair salon, went in and used the restroom because he “had to doo doo”. He said he flushed but it wouldn’t go down and a woman was banging on the door and screaming at him. He said there was one piece that wouldn’t flush so he scooped it up with his hand and threw it in the trash. At this point, all the operators were doubled over in laughter. I love these moments of levity.
Anyway, it’s a good show. 9 Pm on oxygen and rerun on many early mornings.

Have a friend who's a dispatcher. Not a fun or easy job.
You never know what's going to come down the line. One was a kid who wanted to go home - parents were at a friend's house and dammit, it was time to go home - what was wrong with these adults? She told the operator that it WAS AN EMERGENCY - these people weren't leaving so she could go watch TV downstairs!
But there were equally heartbreaking ones with people who were desperately ill, or trapped in cars after serious accidents and worse. I'm not sure the moments of levity make up for the rest.

Yeah, they have calls where they’re talking down suicides, helping the caller with CPR, etc. Its a different side to the first responders shows and I find it interesting and entertaining.
However, I do not find watching Brady get sacked by a fucking Cowboy entertaining. And I miss Al Michaels! Turico can’t carry it without Collinsworth.

They just took a call from a guy asking for the fire department because he thinks his oven blew up. They finally drag out of him that he hid his gun and loaded clip in the oven while making a trip to Walmart. Upon returning home, he decided to cook, forgetting about the gun. Turned oven on and boom! 🤣🤣🤣
The next call was much more sobering. A domestic, with a man threatening to kill a woman and trying to get the phone from her.

When I was in college, kid in one of my classes had the oven blow up. Almost everyone didn't have automatic pilots, so you had to light the oven manually - he thought he had lit the oven, and when he opened the door, nothing was on. He didn't realize that the gas was on - thought he hadn't turned it on properly. Lit another match and BOOM. Luckily he escaped with minor burns and other than the kitchen getting scorched, no major damage.
Scared the crap out of me (can you see a pattern here? Basically everything on my first venture of living alone scared the crap outta me!). Grew up with an electric stove, and the whole 'light the burner' thing was daunting enough to me. But I was super, super careful about lighting the oven after that!

I adore cooking with gas. But that pilot light thing always worried me.
