My dad gave mom a towel warmer for some occasion, not sure which one. I took it when I moved out. It no longer warms but is great as a holder. 🤣🤣
Yeah, stepping out of the shower (or even sitting down on the toilet!) can be a bit brisk at times, but it’s better than the alternative. One of my pet peeves is sweating right after I shower. I hate feeling as though I need a shower right after I’ve had one.

Wow. All that sun and it’s still 60 degrees in here? I’m surprised it didn’t warm up more down here today. Looks like I’ll be donning my ski cap later. When will my nose mitten get here?

It's a beautiful weekend - had the windows open yesterday. Paying for it today, but it was worth it.

It has been beautiful. I was just counting on the warmer temps warming up things here. Still 60 though. I’m not complaining at all. 60 I can handle. 40s not so much. My upstairs AC has been running the past couple days, so I assumed it was warming up downstairs as well.

Today is drizzly. I had promised the pooches yesterday that we could all have a nice deck nap. Should I keep the promise? I do feel like snoozing. I should also go get my covid booster and flu shot, and a new dog bed for upstairs. I think laziness will win however.

I’m going next week, maybe even tomorrow. I’ve been procrastinating, too, minx.

No more procrastination. I just scheduled my vaccinations for Tuesday at 0900. They had no appointments available in King George today, for some reason.
I had been procrastinating because I had not showered while my burns were healing. I was doing the “sponge bath” thing, but was very conscious t that I had not showered in about 8 days. I didn’t want to risk taking BO to the pharmacy and subject them to my ickyness. Today’s shower was uneventful and felt amazing. No issues with the new skin and scars, either. Plus, wearing a bra over these burns would have been just pure agony.

Did get my lazy ass out the door yesterday. Got one in each arm. Should have just done one in retrospect, as now I have two achy arms rather than one.
I can put up with it though - should only last through today.

You did what I did last year, although I added a tetanus vaccination along with flu and Covid. Two in the left arm, one in the right. It wasn’t all that bad.

Worse shot I ever had in terms of swelling was most definitely the shingles shot - that itched for a solid two weeks. However, if it keeps me from ever getting that shit, two weeks will have been well worth it!

Absolutely. That one definitely has been the worst for me, especially the second one. I had a video doc a few months ago that told me he had the first shingles vax (not shingrix) then took shingrix when it was available, but still got shingles! Yikes!
I’ve always thought it was a good thing to experience some sort of reaction from a vaccine. It’s an indication that the immune system is ramping up. I saw an article in the Washington Post that reinforces that idea as it said that people experiencing more intense reactions to the Covid vaccines have a more robust immunity to it. So I do worry when all I have is a sore arm. There’s no indication that my immune system is even responding to the vaccination!
Regardless, I’m super charged now, with the extra strong flu vaccine along with the bivalent Covid vaccine. Woohoo! And my battery charging is complete for this month.
To bring this thread back to its original subject, I was surprised how warm it was when I headed out today. Although the temperature was 63 according to Weatherbug, it felt warmer. I guess the clouds and humidity added that benefit. But I headed out in my hoodie and sweats! I had the AC on driving to CVS, and started shedding clothes once I got inside the store (just the hoodie!😜😜). And I STILL needed a bit of AC going home.

I turned the AC off upstairs this evening. It was still coming on, but I think I can make do without it. Fan still runs on high during the day so that should keep things plenty comfy.

It seemed chilly this evening when I came downstairs, but when I checked the thermostat it had warmed up to 65 (it was 62 when I went to bed). I guess the dampness made it feel chilly. And, I’m considering turning the AC back on upstairs. I’ve awakened, sweating, several times over the past couple nights and it wasn’t because I have to pee. (This is a weird phenomenon that has struck me in the past 10 years or so. When I have to pee, I start getting sweaty.). I had to completely rid myself of my blanket today. It’s more the humidity than the temperature, I think. Even with the ceiling fan on full blast, it feels stuffy. AC in November.
Granted, I have been feeling under the weather the past few days. But, I’m in that state where I want to hang on until the 8th so my vote will count. Why can’t dying be on our terms, damnit???!!!

I think it's been super humid out this fall. Yesterday evening rain was predicted. Told Mr. Minx I didn't see lots of kids going out to flood the streets given the weather. He goes out and buys several bags of candy anyway. Needless to say, I have lots of candy here if anyone wants some

Yeah, no one took the remaining Cokes or the Domino’s bag. But I haven’t given out candy in many years.
I slept much better with the AC today. But chilled after the shower. 🤣🤣🤣 I am not complaining!

80s today. Ugh. Go away, heat!
Last night was pizza night (no Tovala this week so I was really looking forward to it!). Delivery guy retrieved the warming bag but left a plastic holder for the Diet Cokes. It looks like some they’re delivered in. It’s much better than the plastic bags they usually use. It is very sturdy, although I couldn’t lift eight 2 liter bottles; I’m assume used a dolly to move it?
But, he didn’t take a Coke!

Your microwave will magically fix itself - be patient grasshopper! This weather is insane. Probably the new norm though. And your delivery guy is kind if weird. first he leaves the warming bag, and now he leaves the holding tray for the dc?

Different guys. The warming bag was a mistake, I believe. They use to bring the bottles in these really nice plastic 😱😱 bags - much thicker and bigger than the bags stores use. I’m guessing they don’t have those anymore? They’ve brought them in the flimsy ones, and have to double or triple them for just2 of the two liters. So I think they are looking for other ways to get them to my doorstep. A couple weeks ago, they left the bottles neatly lined up on my doormat. It made me smile.

It was 53 degrees when I hobbled downstairs tonight. Definitely hat weather. I may need to turn on a bit of heat, as my feet are a bit chilled. It’s warmed up to 56, but I cannot anticipate any more of an increase without some heat, but I’m torn. If it’s uncomfortable for me, it is uncomfortable for mice. 🤣🤣

I’ve got my winter socks on now. No need for the boots, yet, as these are working fine. I was still wearing anklets; although they are alpaca wool (those Pacas are so soft!), they weren’t as warm as the full sock.
I love that I can turn on the heated blanket again. Snuggle time is here!
