So, if you're over 50 and female, it's recommended that you take a calcium supplement once a day. If you want to swallow them a pill, most seem to be designed for a horse. If you want to chew them, the price rivals your grocery bill.
Was reading an article, and they said the best 'supplement' are Tums. Yes Tums - they are pretty much nothing but calcium carbonate. Went out and checked a bottle, and tis true! Plus they contain 750mg of the shit, so eating 1 a day gets you what you need as long as you eat some sort of calcium rich food (I eat a greek yogurt a day, so I'm golden).
Plus you won't get an upset stomach from excess acid - Winning!!!!

I take 3 a day (Caltrate), one in the evening and 2 before bed. I was taking more but doc advised me to reduce to 3. Being lactose intolerant, I get very little calcium from diet.
