Apparently you haven’t seen the scoop and swipe method. Just take your arm and swipe it across a shelf right into your cart!

I've seen a fairly impressive catalog of thievery methods lately. Even where a person just walks into a store, grabs a 12 pack from the cooler and walks right out the fuckin door like it's out of their own fridge. Some will even grab a sandwich on the way out.
Oh, and the ones where 30 people go into a store and grab as much as they can carry and then scatter like cockroaches when the light comes on.
At least no one is getting hurt for the most part. But I heard some businesses are now hiring armed security AT GAS STATIONS!

My dog sitter works the night shift at Wawa - there are three people running the store, and the shit (literal) they see is unbelievable.
But as he says for $13/hr, he's not stopping people and getting hurt. He has a 3yo he's responsible for snoozing at home.
Wally World is the one I don't get. Another friend had a son who worked security for them - he was specifically told not to confront anyone. Try and get a plate number (using his phone - WM didn't give them cameras of their own) so it could be reported to the police! He was fired for talking to two customers - one was a 15yo who stole a box of condoms (he took him aside, showed him the tape and told him that a $8 box of condoms wasn't worth getting a record for, then told him places where he could get them for free) - mom went off that her son was 'detained' illegally. Second was a guy who was following women and girls around the store with his hands in his pants pockets - was pretty oblivious what he was doing with his hands too. Guy complained because he was told to leave the store as he was making shoppers uncomfortable. Management canned him the next day - can't have security doing their jobs!
I don't want employees getting paid $12/hr to have to put their lives on the line for corporate, but if corporate is going to install cameras and motion scanners at the checkout to make sure I don't forget to scan my milk, they can cough up for some REAL security to be at the doors to make sure that we've all actually paid for our purchases.
And I don't want to hear the bullshit about someone heisting a pack of diapers because they're too poor to buy any and the baby needs them. These are people taking entire carts of expensive shit, not a loaf of bread.
