I know you all don't have Netflix, but I thought this was an interesting series.
It's about a security heist that takes place during a hurricane. The episodes aren't shown in order (except for the white one, which is the heist itself).
You see the vantage of the characters from when the main protagonists first meet until 6 months after the heist - some episodes are definitely better than others, and the character's arcs don't all gel the way you expect them to.
But I thought it was interesting - a lot of reviewers are pissed - seems like they wanted some sort of Oceans 11 type of thing where the leads were likable people. In the end, I understood where Ray's motivation was coming from, but I didn't really think much of him. Same with Roger. I guess a lot of people wanted lovable rogues, or wanted things to be neat and tidy.
And there are a lot of continuity errors between the episodes, the largest one being the progression of Ray's Parkinson's Disease.
But overall I liked it.

Thanks for the review. We get Netflix for a month or two, get caught up, and buh-buyee. Yesterday was buh-buyee day. Haven't seen that one. So many of the shows have all been really pitiful variations on just a couple of central themes. And the acting O.M.G. in some of these movies made in the last few years. We watched something the other night and could not believe accomplished actors Morgan Freeman (God), Cole Houser (Yellowstone), Jamie Alexander (Blind Spot) and a few other people that you certainly don't expect to have major roles in such a piece of shit movie. I even said while we were watching it "if he racks that round (on the gun) I'm gonna lose it" and it was at that very moment he racks a round you know, in the gun that he has been holding at someone's head commanding information about the thumb drive. Because you, as an international assassin, think "safety first" whilst counting down from 3, waiting until 1 to chamber a live round. Just like when the bad guy tells the 20 FBI agents pointing at him to drop their weapons or he'll kill her/him and they do. Yep, just like they're trained IRL. I can't even. Sorry, so maybe we'll check that one out next time we go back online with NETFLEAX www.imdb.com/title/tt11833408/?ref_=nm_flmg_t_2_act

I was thinking about what you said, and it's really pissing me off.
Mainly because all the networks now have their own streaming services and it truly cuts into any original programming.
For example, NBC did a reboot of their old murder mysteries they had on in the 70s. It's called Poker Face, and while it's not a-one TV, it's not terrible either. But it's only on their streaming service (Peacock). In the past, it would have been on the network (with the language cleaned up some). Now you have to shell out to watch. The little Minx did shell out and I told her she owed me for keeping the Netflix subscription alive, so I have a password. Oh and that fee she shelled out also gives us the 'benefit' of watching the shows with commercials. WTF?

Everything will be streaming soon and I’ll be left out. I don’t even bother trying, with all the throttling going on here.
Speaking of shows. Oxygen is my backup if I can’t find anything else that interests me. I always find true crime shows interesting but I don’t care for Dateline. I think it’s the hosts. They annoy me with their superior attitude. I prefer the unseen narrators on the other shows. (One lady sounds like Siri! 🤣🤣🤣).

We are all streaming here. Cable and internet would be over 200 a month by the time they add everything up (2 tvs's, remotes, wireless router, basic cable and "high speed" internet). Right now we're at 30/month for the internet (thanks obama), 12/mo Amazon Prime, and normally anywhere from $5-$15 a month for one other pay as you go, month to month, or free trial types. Our daughter has youtube tv that we use for live local and many other shit channels like USA, FX, Food Net, et al... they pay it and are allowed to share with "family" as long as their goofle accounts are linked to ours.
If that goes sour at some point, they have those little antennas that are basically a small plastic sheet that goes in your window and picks up all the digital over the air channels. I assume that would work ok here because it worked in Bumpass. It did not however work in Goldvein and I'm not sure that it just didn't go bad. $30 last I checked.

Yeah, gotta love all the cable 'extras'. Haven't had the stomach to look at the Cox bill - I have the spouse do that for me. But the majority of the bill is internet and taxes - the cable part actually isn't all that much. And because I work from home, I have to have reliable internet - unfortunately, the only real choices here are Cox or fios, and both suck eggs.
Used to be that Cox would give me a discount if I agreed to lock in a 2 year rate, but those days are gone too. What really fries me are the taxes. Wouldn't mind paying them as much if I knew they were going to provide more folks internet access.

I loved Cox when I was living with mom. Their internet was faster than my work’s internet!

New show - smaller child has a Peacock subscription that we are hijacking. After all those years of food and baths, it's the least she can do for us.
The Traitors. This one I think is totally up Pam's alley. It's a reality game show with a mix of has-been celebrities, and normal folk. There are 20 of them to start and they are all put up in a castle. Three of them have been randomly selected to be traitors.
The 17 who are 'The Faithful' have to defend the castle from the 'Traitors' by figuring out who they are and banishing them. In the meantime, the traitors 'murder' one of the faithful every episode. First episode was blah, but now that some murders have taken place, it's getting interesting.
Each day, the entire group plays a game that puts money into a pot - if the faithful get rid of the traitors before the end, they get all the money and vice versa.
It's actually better than I was expecting. They don't have any of the 'secret room' where contestants go to whine - all the action takes place between breakfast and after dinner. At breakfast, they find out who was murdered the night before, but they don't see the victim (the audience gets a 30 second clip of their reaction to being murdered). After they find out who was murdered and we see the reaction, they immediately are whisked off for that day's game. After the game, there's a little bit of public chit-chat in the main areas of the castle. Dinner is off-camera, then they convene to banish someone they think is in the traitor group. That person gets a 30 second speech and tells everyone what group they were in. Then you get a 5-10 minute segment where the traitors get together to decide who to murder next.
There are three traitors. Two of them would have been already unmasked if left to their own devices. The third is the mastermind and has figured out the best strategy is to not have one - he's convinced them to go after random people for the murders to keep everyone confused. That way the faithful will turn on each other. So far it's working well.
Anyway, interesting show.

I HATE reality shows. I don’t think I’ve EVER watched one. Not the competitions (fear factor, survivor, any of the singing ones), big brother type shows, kardashians, etc. Well, I was forced to watch kardashians when I was visiting my friend in Peterborough but she watched the Pats with me so we were even.
But I LOVE the goofs, like The Office. That still makes me LOL.

I like this one because it's not over the top with all the backstabbing and 'secret' conversations. It moves along rather briskly and the competitions are interesting.
The one yesterday was 'the bells are ringing' - they split into two groups - the players and the ears.
The players went to a bell tower and were given sheet music and had to play the music on the bells. The ears had to listen, identify the song then run inside and find the identical music box playing the song. It was pretty funny watching both groups trying to guess the song.

I heard that CBS is bringing back @midnite which was one of my favorite shows on Comedy Central. It came on after Cobert Report for at least a year or two. The contestants were usually stand up comedians or the like, you know, funny people. That guy from Reno 911, Tom something had me in tears all the time. The host might have had some unfortunate encounters with females on and/or off the show but to be honest I can't remember if that's actually the case or I'm imagining it.
Anyway, Colbert is producing it so it should be good. I'll check it out and let yall know when they get it going.

Colbert was on Howard recently promoting it.
Is OPLive (or LivePD) considered reality programming? I think of it as true crime, as I do the 911 Call Center (I love that show).
