It's hard for me to believe that an old deaf lady couldn't be dealt with except by cops.

This article made my blood boil.
First, she's a confused elderly woman in a wheelchair. Did NO ONE think to ask who her emergency contact was? NO ONE?
And I suspect she was a pain in the ass - it was her first flight ever, and she had missed her original one because she didn't hear the announcement of the gate change. She managed to re-book on her own, but then her nephew told her to stay where she was because there was a new flight coming in that was going to her destination - she could just get on that. And because of her hearing difficulties, she was unable to understand what the gate agent was telling her.
I would dearly love to know the reason the gate agents (there were two of them) gave for calling airport police in the first place.
But let's not focus on this poor woman or anyone like her who has been tossed into jail on what amounts to a whim. Let's instead join Lauren Boebart in her fight to ensure that the January 6th traitors have nice jail conditions - we all know they're being mistreated. I mean, having access to ipads for only 6 hours a day? WTF is up with that??? They need catered meals, unlimited streaming and spa treatments.
Maybe we need to send them to a REAL jail - one where you sit in a freezing cell for three days without water. Or where your jailer breaks your arm and you sit with only an advil or two for pain while the medical staff dismisses your complaint. Or one where you wait a month to get a bond hearing and chance to enter your plea for a crime you didn't commit?

Absolutely! When I read about the conditions the 1/6 prisoners were living in, I was livid. They’re fucking terrorists! Send them to Gitmo!

I can't even begin to tell you the shit storm that would roll in if that had been my wife, mother, or daughter (albeit if I were her father I'd probably only be able to bring in some light rain) and the headlines that followed.
My brother (half brother) already doesn't speak to me because of my outspokenness about this shit over the years. I guess his little badge is supposed to compel me to back the blue, or say nothing at all. Not sure that's the entire reason but I've heard things about them cutting ties even with people in their church over similar sentiments.
Not worried about it but I wonder sometimes if that old lady had been his wife, mother, or daughter, which I know he loves more than his "brothers".

As usual John, you nailed it!
And while I'm not shocked, I can't believe that people are defending the folks who held Otero down after going into his cell in a locked medical facility and sedating him. Something like 8 officers and two medical folks for a guy who's out of it and not resisting? That video was horrible to watch, but I felt it was my duty to do so and bear witness to the fact that he was brutalized for no apparent reason. Watched the George Floyd video for the same reason. Kind of felt like it was a form of respect for them to make sure that those who defend the scum who do this know that people are watching and judging the actions of those responsible.
