I was thinking about this the other day, and really when you get down to it, full Medicaid is the same as universal health care for those who are able to qualify.
Both of my kids were on it for a bit after graduation - eldest had partial and didn't use it. Youngest has it and does use it.
Stuff covered Well-woman checkup Full physical with all bloodwork Eye exam with glasses Mental health treatment Medications Urgent care with x-rays (she had pneumonia)
My nephew (who is trans) had all the treatment for his transition covered by Medicaid.
It's too bad we could go to this as a national model. We can have the current companies administer payments, so no one loses their job. And we could make payment on a sliding scale, or have employers chip in towards it in lieu of having to pay premiums.
Again, pigs are flying by...
