I honestly think the only sash you should be allowed is one reflecting that you’re graduating with honors. Enough with sashes from every organization under the sun.
Black caps and gowns, with a maximum of one sash. Keep it simple.
And FWIW, I’m also against the whole cap decorating thing too.
So get off my damn lawn!!

Huh? Why shouldn't you be allowed to express yourself and your identity however you see fit and at the time and place of your choosing? I don't get it. It's. Your. Right. To. Be.. and Do _____________. which shall not be infringed.

I think we're saying the same thing, but I didn't make myself clear...
Now in the case you had above, if the school allowed any sash for an organization not sponsored by the school, then they have to allow them all IMO.
But I really wish high schools would just have a simple cap and gown that's one color (not one for boys and one for girls - everyone wears the same color) and no sashes, or just sashes for students graduating with honors. The shit of having sashes and cords for everything has really gotten out of hand.
Interestingly enough, at the college level, the big thing is decorating caps - not really cords and special sashes.

Yes. If one, then all. If none then that means f*cking none. But you know, I am starting to look at this from a judicial point of view and I am leaning toward agreeing that one, you're going to get sued and two, you should be ready to make exceptions because bet your bippy you pissed entitled people off on their big day.
PS my daughter did the cap thing, not the rest of the swag.

Eldest spawn didn't want to walk, and I wasn't going to push her - she let us know well beforehand, so not like I planned a party and invited a crowd. Youngest spawn did walk, but didn't have any sashes or cords.
I honestly think it's getting out of control. I get that for many kids HS graduation is their big moment as they won't be going to college, but to me it shouldn't be an anything goes free-for-all.

My kid had a slew of decorations. They certainly earned all of them. Like a letterman jacket, you know?
When I graduated HS, everyone dressed the same, plain cap and gown. Green for Bulldogs?

My kid didn't want the jacket (thanks to all the god$$), but did get the letters and awards over the years. All well earned.
And if you want to get a varsity jacket and wear it around the halls, more power to you, and I 100% say go for it with pride.
But graduation should be the place where everyone is equal (again just my opinion).

Good Lord I love the options where there used to be none. Even if nothing is one of the options! /LOL
