How long does it take them to come up with "UH-HUH YOU JUST SCARED" when you take this position?
came up with that one during the primaries but weren't allowed to use it at the time.
As has been previously discussed, this strategy is impossible to prevail, unless of course, Dark Brandon can pants Dear Leader.

I was surprised to hear that Howard interviewed Biden today, as he doesn’t work on Fridays (he’s been on a 3-day/week schedule for many years). But I tuned in and listened (they are replaying it all day) and it was a throw away comment. Howard said, “I don’t know if you’re debating Trump..” and Biden interjected, “oh, I will. I will debate him.” Howard went on to say he should just keep throwing all his crimes in his face, repeatedly.
It was a good interview, which lasted about an hour. Biden is such a good, decent man who has overcome so much tragedy. One thing he did say, which ,made me laugh, is something like he wished he could have met Trump in his younger days and punch him in the nose. 🤣🤣 (I’m paraphrasing)

Something like that. 🤣🤣
It was weird. I read punchbowl news and politico. They always post the public schedules for POTUS and VP. Today’s schedule had Biden getting his daily security briefing at 0930, then nothing until he left NYC for the White House around 1230. Now we know what he was doing!

I think the only way Biden could win a debate is to let Trump rant, and then calmly say "Are you finished? Okay, now I'm going to talk about what I have done to help Americans." And every time Trump interrupts, as soon as he takes a breath, say "Donald, it's rude to interrupt - didn't your parents teach you any manners?"
Rinse and repeat as often as necessary. Emphasize that you are calm, measured and in control, while he's a ranting loon. Another line may be "Donald, you're not making any sense right now. I'm going to talk while you gather your thoughts."
Kind of along Reagan's 'There you go again' line against Dukakis. He knows that Trump won't allow a fair debate, so the only way to beat him is to refuse to play his game - don't rise to his insults and bait traps. Just sigh a lot and comment that you're going to let him calm down, then you can talk about actual issues.
Problem is that Biden's stutter gets a lot worse when he's stressed, and he gets stressed a lot while making public speeches. So it's going to be hard for him to keep a calm demeanor.

I think the conversation started on here when I posted the clip from that presser a few months ago. And then added Jon Stewart's "NOOOOOOO!" as Biden turned to go back to the podium. He may have been built that way at one time, I don't recall, but he's not going to be able to heard that cat now.
If he MUST, then the first thing he should say in his opening statement is to first read off all the things FRAUD Trump has been found guilty of, let's say, in the past 10 years, like the FRAUD with his charity, the FRAUD with his "University", the FRAUD with his business, and the libel from the E Jean Carrol Case.... and then go right to the list of current charges. Then he needs to remind everyone of the two impeachments, and how the Senate GOP (sans Romney) was complicit in acquitting him. Adding, the same congressional MAGA loyalists have tried to impeach me and failed, bringing the total number of times I've been impeached to Zero, the same number of times I've ever been indicted for ANY crime Then say "This man doesn't want to debate, he wants to save his slimy skin by doing what he does, come out here and lie, lie, lie" and leave the stage. and hopefully doesn't trip and fall on his way off.
I feel like he doesn't have anything to gain by listing his accomplishments or ideas/plans moving forward. No one will be listening for that. They'll all be there for the show. Trump is the PT Barnum of our time, and we don't watch NASCAR for the racing do we?

45 will be sundowning since the debates are held in the evening. He may be disruptive, but he won’t make any sense, which could be a benefit to the current prez.

Nah, will be no benefit at all. Trump gets energized by crowds, and Biden doesn't. That's how it is.
And as John notes, Biden gets no benefit at all from participating in the circus. None.
If he wants to 'debate' ask for the networks to give them both 15 minutes of live airtime with no crowds present. They can use those 15 minutes to present their case to the American People. No back and forth, no yelling at each other, just 15 minutes to make their best case.
If they want to 'compare policy', then give each of them the same 5 questions to answer in that 15n minute timeframe.

Holy shit. I have heard the Biden interview so many times I can recite it word for word! They played it for 24 hours straight, over and over. Then, over the weekend, they have played in between each replay of the previous week (example, play the replay of Monday’s show, then the Biden interview, then Tuesday’s show, then the Biden interview, etc.). I realize that this was a YUGE get for Howard and Sirius, but holy crap! I want to hear the cumming or screaming game, for fuck sake! 🤣🤣🤣

He did get off some decent jokes during the WH Correspondents Dinner.
This campaign is 100% about age. I'm an adult and he's a 6 year old child I'm always getting asked for money any time I'm out visiting places - Can I have $85 million for this, Can I have $175 million for that? I finally had to say "Donald, we just don't have the cash"

He did gaffe a couple times during the interview. He said he was speaking at the “gridiron dinner” on Saturday instead of the correspondents dinner. But he also said he was going to ask the press to stop treating the election like a “horse race” and focus more on the democracy issue.
And, when he was talking about his first campaign, he said, “Trump - oops - Freudian slip< I mean Nixon only won my district by …”. I thought that was funny!

Yeah, I think he needs to be put out to pasture too. And I can't help but imagine what could have been if the Dems had supported him while grooming people to be his successor.
Could have had someone young and dynamic in the race rather than an old man who is going to struggle to beat another old man. Difference is that old man 1 is starting to go senile, and old man 2 is genuinely batshit crazy.

I agree. Watched his interview with Stern and the correspondent's dinner. Ain't no way he finishes a second term. Think about him as you see him right now, and then 5 years from now, which would be the home stretch of his second term. Nope.
I'm okay with a Kamala Harris Presidency (and Doug) but they really need and I mean REALLY NEED to put some focus on her because if nothing else, who will the Dems run if, God forbid, he doesn't make it to THIS November?

Problem is that Harris is super-polarizing even among Democrats. So there would be a huge issue there in terms of convincing people to come out and vote for her.
But yeah, I don't see Joe finishing a second term. And we should never had been in this position in the first place. I don't think he's done a bad job overall in terms of getting legislation passed, and has certainly done a great job of getting tons of people out from under their student loans and doing it legally and legitimately.
However, he's a crappy communicator, and Harris doesn't seem to be much better - if they were, they would have been way ahead of the inflation issue by pressing large corporations to explain why they were making record profits, but not passing on any of them to consumers in lower costs. And they'd be calling for the USDA to be properly funded again, by pointing out that one of their major functions was to track things like bird flu and give farmers advice. Maybe if they had proper funding, they'd be able to do things to prevent entire flocks from being killed.
Last but not least, they did a super crappy job on the whole IRS thing. They need to be out singing in the streets about the new tax filing program and how quickly folks who used it received a refund - and it was FREE TO USE - no strings attached! And educate people on how many 'low income' people (those making below $100K) actually get flagged for audit every year, compared to how many making $500K plus do. "We're not going after Joe Average, cause the Average Americans don't cheat on taxes - they pay their fair share"
Sigh. Meanwhile, the Orange One's criminal trial for insurrection has been postponed until September because they need more time for discovery.
