The CEO of Kellogs is seriously wondering why his comments on eating cereal for dinner occasionally to save some grocery bux is not being taken well.
Meanwhile, I'm seriously wondering why they didn't can his stupid ass after making said comment.
When I was a youngster, I enjoyed the occasional bowl of cereal for dinner as much as the next woman. Note that I said 'occasional', not let's have it 3x a week.
And if I was low on grocery bux, the first thing off the list is name-brand cereal. And probably milk as well. If cereal was on the table, you can bet it will be malt-o-meal. And I'm talking if I had amble grocery bux. Once I discovered that stuff, we never went back.
$4.9 million per year and the best this asshole can come with in terms of marketing is this?

There was an article in mainstream media the other day about more people switching to off-brand labels and taking their purchases to discount stores like Aldi, and how that's affecting the mega-corporate manufacturers' bottom lines. Exactly what I've been preaching- Don't pay their prices! It's way past time for consumers to decide that enough is enough.

I've started eating All-Bran. I do the buds - you can blend them into shit so you don't have to eat them in a bowl with milk.
There is no generic/off-label version of them. Last time I got them they were about $4.79 a box. I checked on things like Raisin Bran out of curiosity - the name brand was a little under $4 a box.
So yeah, screw that shit.
And the more people who start understanding and saying that, the faster we might get lower prices and regular packaging. I'm so fucking sick of people defending these corporations making record profits and paying their executives outrageous salaries. They seem to have absolutely zero understanding (or more accurately don't care at all), that these profits are coming out of OUR pockets.
But those self-same people will squeal like pigs if their tax bill goes up by a penny. Assholes all of them.

I lived off cereal for many years. Every day. I couldn’t afford the deposit for the gas company to turn on my heat, so I wasn’t having meals. Dry cereal was what kept me alive. That and an occasional meal at home with the parents.
