Did y'all happen to see the post from the young lady that thinks she and her little girl were the target of traffickers at the Kohls in Cosner's Corner yesterday?

I did. And I have questions.
Not saying this isn't real, but why didn't she call the police? Why didn't the employee at Kohls call them?
I do think the advice is sound - don't lend your phone to a stranger to make a call to a 'friend' because they can't find their phone. I wouldn't have gone to the front desk to have them call, but have told the other woman sorry, but no - I bet you could go to customer service and they'd call for you though. Have a great day!
And I do believe that in almost all of these cases, once someone is busted as trying to scam you, they and their little gang get the hell out of dodge - they want an easy mark. Target is less than 3 minutes away after all.
So one of those, may be true but may be urban legend.
Either way, it's always best to be as fully aware as you can be of your surroundings. And that goes for everyone.

My daughter and I had the same discussion. She asked the same question you started off with. Thing is, we don't know for sure that the police weren't called based on the facebook post that has been shared. The woman was obviously still shaken when she wrote it and it's tough to hold someone to higher journalistic standards than journalists... but I don't think she made it up. The pictures put her, the guy that was watching her, and the vehicle at the Kohl's as stated.
Daughter said she saw it "everywhere" by the time I sent it to her, I assume that means all her social media. Waiting to see if there's a news story about it upcoming. Interestingly, I was going to copy my comment on the The Spotsy Talk fb page but it appears the entire post was removed. That could be from the admins having enough of the foolishness, or the OP deleting it. But in a nutshell it was very similar to what you said about the people moving on quickly once they know they've been noticed, and how brazen they would be to continue at that point. Also, always trusting your instincts, being aware of your surroundings (my #1 rule outside of my own home), and if whenever possible to have the means to defend yourself and your family.

I did a google search and found nothing in terms of a report on any local news source reporting on this incident. I would have expected to have found something other than FB.
And as you noted the post is gone, gone, gone.
I call urban legend.
Ever note that in all of these 'creepy person following me' stories, there are seemingly no other customers experiencing it?

I don't necessarily feel suckered yet even though I did the same thing. Checking around for anything, literally anything, else. And nada.
This doesn't happen without news trucks setting outside the Kohl's within a few hours. Tell me I'm wrong.
...
ughhhh. If it was bullshit and I'm still not saying it was, because I have my pride... It does appear we have enough for an Alfred's plea right now.

We totally do. I will admit that my spidey sense was activated when I looked at the picture of said dude - looked like a grainy image from a security camera. I thought "I could take a better picture from my phone..." Then I stopped and said "Oh wait - maybe that was from the store security camera." I knew it was fishy from the first word in the post itself. That's my story and I'm sticking to it!

You know what? Even if it was 100% pure, unadulterated, premium grade bullshit, it still makes for a great opportunity to remind ourselves and the people we care about, to first and foremost be aware of your environment, then trusting of your basic instincts, and if possible to have a plan. Even if that plan is only to shit yourself and scream as loud and for as long as you can. If that's your plan- follow through with it and channel your fear into it.

And that you don't NEED to be polite either.
First warning - a very clear stern "Please leave me alone" Second warning - " I TOLD YOU TO LEAVE ME ALONE ASSHOLE!! GET AWAY FROM ME NOW!"
And yeah, volume matters - the first needs to be loud, but the second needs to be at a much higher volume.
And of course - never say you're being attacked. Instead yell that someone needs to call 911 and get an ambulance here NOW!! CALL THEM NOW!!! THIS PERSON NEEDS MEDICAL ATTENTION!! PLEASE, SIR LIE DOWN - HELP IS ON THE WAY!!
Because in that situation, they send the police along for the ride as well.
That gets people's attention pretty quickly, and is more effective than the standard advice of saying there's a fire.
