I've taken up quilting.
Last night I was rethreading the sewing machine. Leaned in closer to see something and accidentally hit the petal of the machine putting the needle through my index finger and cracking my nail. To add insult to injury, the damn needle broke off in my finger!
Hurts like hell, especially my pride. Pulled the broken needle out with the help of some needle-nosed pliers.

Perfect tool for the job!
Painful stuff I know all too well.

I have shot myself in the fingers with a nail gun at least twice, more drywall screws than I can remember, and that fucking cabinet (with the spaghetti mess of data cables) I posted on Facebook a couple of weeks ago closed on my hand as I removed it from the wall and the guide pin impaled me square on the back of my hand by about half an inch.
We won't even get started on the dozens of other ways I've bled during attempted feats of fuckery.

I remember a case in NYC where a guy was shot in the head with a nail gun while he was eating lunch - the place next door was doing construction, and there was nothing between their building and the restaurant but two thin sheets of drywall.

That's what you call a perfect storm of bad luck and dumbassery.
Mine have come while holding a piece of material and the gun doing a double shot which is why you don't drink 6 cups of coffee before using it. The latest was a nail that went through the back of the 4x4 I was toenailing on the deckramp. It's still sticking out.... which reminds me of a chore I have to do this week before nugget comes over and catches himself on it.

Yeah, they had a picture of the xray on the news - guy was lucky as the nail was lodged in his head, but at an angle that avoided touching his brain. Had to have been scary as hell for him.
