Charge the members of Louisiana's legislate for banning all abortions including rape, incest, and the life of the mother. This is 100% an intended consequence of their laws; to make life as painful as possible in order to bring people, in this case women, into compliance. 

Not saying it had anything at all to do with this story, just that we could and likely will be seeing a lot more like it.

Oh 100% agree. Idaho has seen an increase in women with problem pregnancies (ie - wanted but not viable) where doctors are telling the parents that mom has to be airlifted to a hospital in CO so they can have an abortion because they can't do one at that gestational age and the fetus still has a heartbeat (picture 20 weeks along). So women who could easily be treated in the ER and hospital now have to be airlifted for no good reason.

Oh and OB/GYNs are leaving these states in droves so they don't have to be put in these kind of situations.

No, it's not. As I've said before, anything less than a Democrat supermajority in November will set this country back 250 years. If you've been following Project 2025 (I know YOU have, D) then you'd know that one of the key phrases they use in the plan is what they call a "reset". The phony baloney in that chapter is trimming off "agencies" like the ATF. I'm fine with that of course, but as I said, that's the phony baloney. What they want trimmed off is executive, cabinet level departments like Education, Justice, Energy, and HHS. To have as few challenges to the Unified Executive authority that will be granted by the SCOTUS since they've already signaled complete willingness to abide.

A key tenet of the 'health' section is to 'restore and protect the nuclear family'. Can we say shotgun marriage and the elimination of no-fault divorce?

Oh and all federal services, including the justice department will be brought under the control of the president. Such great ideas.

People regardless of party should be scared shitless by the majority of these ideas.

But as we all know it's good in the hood until you are personally affected.
Your pregnancy (or that of a loved one) goes south and they can't access any care within their state.
Your spouse who is an American citizen gets caught in an immigrant roundup based on their skin tone or accent and is held without due process for weeks while you try to sort it out.
You or your spouse lose their federal job and pension because you question a presidential decision or someone in general doesn't like you.
You're a farmer and lose all subsidies (and yes that is a key provision of the agricultural section).
You rely on programs like Medicare, SS or SNAP and can't access them anymore.

But yeah anyone with a brain who reads even part of this shit and is alarmed is a fear-mongering liberal.

A friend of mine suggested this and I'm going to try and do some research tonight.

- Take a oft-repeated policy that Trump spouts on Truth Social or his rallies.
- Search Project 2025 for that exact policy.
- Post it with the page from the document.
- Clearly state that you can vote for whomever you want, but if you plan to vote Republican you are saying that this is fine.

Won't change the hearts of the MAGA faithful of course, but may make some think twice about who they vote for in November.

And again, not that any of this matters because the Republicans are out there sowing the seeds that the Democrats are already cheating so the 2024 election will be fraudulent.
And Democrats won't throw that back in their faces if the Rs do win in November.

The meme is not a quote (It doesn't say "the only valid family") from the "plan" as the creator of it would have you believe, but it does mention most of those things together, and is very clearly anti-lgbt. On the other hand, there is also some things I agree with in that section and have talked about repeatedly.

I'm kind of curious - what part of that particular section do you agree with John?

Here's what I see:
1) Ban almost every type of abortion services, especially if any type of fetal heartbeat can be determined.
2) Promote the nuclear family by throwing lots of money at it.
3) Give absentee fathers tax credits so they can 'support' their children.
4) Push judges to allow higher visitation (no word here on how they plan to force deadbeat dads to actually visit, or how they're going to prevent abusive fathers from using this to control their children and ex-spouses).
5) Eliminate any type of gender affirmative care.
6) Increase tracking of women's fertility.
7) Eliminate requirements for faith-based adoption agencies to consider LGBTQ+ couples or single people from adoption.
8) Rescind the ability for the CDC and HHS to declare public health emergencies
9) Allow doctors to refuse to prescribe birth control and insurance companies to cover it.
10) Eliminate Head Start completely.
11) Increase the work requirement for anyone who receives TANF and repeal the provisions that make it easier for those recipients to receive SNAP benefits.
12) Eliminate all funding for Planned Parenthood and direct the money to organizations that provide 'real health care for women' (whatever that means)
13) Increase funding for 'non-clinical' researchers and trials (Ivermectin anyone?)
14) Revisit the 'no surprise' act that prevents non-providers involved in emergency care and surgery from charging patients outrageous fees.
15) Tighten asset tests for Medicaid and insure that states have more 'robust' enforcement requirements.
16) Appeal the rulings that allowed Medicare to negotiate with drug companies to get fairer prices.
17) Make Medicare Advantage the default option for Medicare.
18) Expand the list of outpatient procedures that Medicare covers and decrease the amount of in-patient services.
18) Increase the use of AI for enforcement.
19) Reduce regulations on doctors and hospitals.
20) Eliminate 'woke' policies that forced researchers to listen to the voices of women and minorities in advocating for health care and research.

And yes, I did read this section in its entirety, as it's one that I have a strong interest in. And I see nothing to help strengthen support for families or children, but lip service.
But I do see a lot of discrimination and removal of what protections are available.

Oh yeah, they do have a provision about programs that promote families and encourage teens to postpone sex. Using existing Medicaid funding, so guess who has to pay for that.

As I said, and I want to be clear, I think it's mostly garbage written by misguided ideologues. Now, I cherry picked the following without any context other than I generally agree that-

HHS should prioritize increases in case management (including significant increases in the number of case workers) to insure that cases of abuse or neglect are investigated promptly and accurately. Case workers should also monitor foster placement and quality of homes.
HHS should prioritize increasing foster placement by expanding definitions beyond a traditional family, and look into other options for temporary foster placement.

My beef with the wording around families in that entire section is the heavy focus on marriage being between a man and a woman.
And indeed the entire focus around marriage itself. While the majority of parents living together are married, there are some who aren't.

The focus should 100% be on having TWO parents who are involved in their child's life. Because divorce and single parenthood are simply a fact of life at this point, so a strong focus should be on keeping both parents involved. And I think that a huge part of that needs to be classes on things like conflict resolution, along with parental rights courses for both parents so that everyone is on the same page.

As you know, I'm a very strong supporter of what many would consider the nuclear family. My beef is with the erosion of it, and how we are witnessing the erosion of the moral fabric of our society. Baby mommas, baby daddies, children being subject to their one parent's multiple partners and in many cases both parent's multiple partners that have other children as well. That's not a family that's a fucking mess. What comes from apple trees? What comes from an apple orchard?!?

I agree that a nuclear family is best, but I also strongly feel that a nuclear family should be defined as TWO parents who are in the same household within a committed relationship. Reasons being that same-sex couples can be parents in just the same manner as opposite sex parents can be.

But I 100% agree on the multiple baby daddies and divorced/single parents having multiple partners.

I don't think that couples should be barred from getting a divorce if they have children, but perhaps there should be mandatory counseling of some sort before legal visitation is determined. Counseling would consist of maybe two sessions that went over the basics of how to put the interests of your child first (without letting child run the show), along with how to deal with conflicts arising with your ex.

And both parents should be required to be on the same page for major issues.
Things like what school the child attends, medical treatment, major behavioral issues (think things like bullying, getting into fights at school) and child care.

Aside from abusive situations where it simply isn't healthy for both parents to be in the same room together, it should be a given that both parents can attend the child's public events if they choose and both agree for the sake of their kid that they'll be civil to each other at said events.
