about this case, except he shot the man thru the screen door when he wasn't going anywhere. Ok, schit happens. I guess in my mind why does the employer, in this case FFAX poleece, pay out a settlement prior to the civil ruling? Is this biddness as usual?

All the other cops on scene said it was a bad shoot. Fairfax paid out because they knew it was an unjustified homicide, and they were concerned that if it were presented in court, they'd lose even worse. That's the civil cost of running a gang above the law.
Too bad there's nothing that can be done about it.

So what you're saying ( please stay with me, I went to public schools) is that FFAX entered an Alford plea? That helps, thanks. That and the music will continue as long as we are paying the band.

Seems like a fair analogy to me.

Yes they knew all along this cop foxtrot uniform'ed. IIRC, they had everything there from SWAT, to an APC, helos, robotic battering ram, for an "armed man"... apparently all that stimuli was more than supercop could handle.
Again, IIRC everyone was out of the house but him and he stood in the doorway with his hands up on top of the doorframe or something to that effect. There is footage. He was clearly not threatening anyone at the time supercop capped his ass.

I believe the footage showed him moving his hand - that was all they needed Seriously though, I feel for his family - they called because he was having problems. They weren't expecting the authorities to end his life.
