COMPLY OR DIE! Nothing is so important as a cop's momentary purpose.

Stop asking questions and you won't get hurt.
Maybe.

I watched some police chase videos last night and one in particular that was so intense that I got worked up in my chair watching. It was on a highway but I still don't think speeds of 125-135 MPH is something that's necessary given the other resources LE have. Still, if you watch, you'll understand why the cop whose dashcam this came from wasn't trying to let him get away. Given the circumstances, I thought he kept himself in pretty damn good control from the beginning to the end.

After that hit, I think he might have inconvenienced a few of his brain cells.

I don't know if you remember the state trooper that crashed in King George about 5 years ago, but he ended up wrapped around a traffic light pole in King George on Rt 3 in front of the pizza place there. I went by there about an hour later, and his car was completely torn in half, and the front of it nearly took out some other people. It did appear that he did try to avoid hitting a car, at least that's what the investigators said. I immediately thought of what could have possibly prompted such actions by him? If I remember correctly, he was a little bit of a hot dog. So sad.

Are the inevitable results of misbehavior a sad thing?

I remember it. He wasn't chasing anyone but responding to a call for backup IIRC. I don't remember if they said he lost control or crashed trying to avoid hitting someone. Totally avoidable in any case if he followed simple procedures.
