Whoa. Like, really whoa. Have one. Also, Ballast Point is opening an east coast brewery in Botetourt county soon, so there's that.

Yeah. I think Star Hill's Habanero Imperial IPA is better overall, but the habanero flavor in the Ballast Point is not shy at all.

Total Wine. Maybe Wegman's, too.

You sick bastards probably eat lima beans too.
No. I don't think that's on my list of must tries. But if they have it somewhere that lets you sample a sip... then maybe. Also as I've said before, real hoppy beers like IPAs just don't agree with my palate. Might be my age. Don't ever remember those even being a thing back in the day. Hell, look how long it took me to accept beer that was flavored with stuff other than beer. Didn't know my ale, lager, pilsners from a hole in the ground and was happy camper anyway.
Weekends were made for Michelob.

Michelob is for golf.
And what's wrong with lima beans?

In contrast, Ballast Point's Mango Even Keel was not as intensely flavored. But I drank that out of the can, instead of my IPA glass, which was the vessel of choice for the Habanero. I still have a Pineapple Sculpin in the fridge, I'll drink that one in a glass and report back.

Meh. There's just no fixing an IPA.
At first, I got some pepper notes and a little pepper sting going on, on lips and tongue. Slightly grapefruit taste. I figure that's from the habaneros (they have such a great flavor).
But by the time I was a third done with the bottle, it was essentially just another nasty IPA - bitter flower juice.

A laundry sheet steeped in ball sweat.
On a gayer note, I was drinking Henry's Hard Soda this weekend. The Orange was delightful!

So I gave the remainders away to a couple three guys. One has tried it, he loved the hoppiness, but could not take the heat. Amazing the different tolerance for spicy heat, because I barely felt a tingle.
Still two guys to await feedback from (one guy is in AK, so it'll be next week - but I know he can take the heat).

I got Star Hill's mixed Imperial IPA pack and it had three Habanero IPAs. I only got any heat out of one of them. I'm wondering if the capsaicin doesn't mix very well, so some bottles get more than others? I just got Devil's Backbone's sampler with two bottles of Jalepeno IPA, I'll try to report back if the heat is consistent or not.

Which DB's have you tried?
I was somewhere with a good selection of sixers and I had to make a choice between Hofbrau Dunkel or DB Danzig. Went with Germany. Still have to try the Danzig and Skull Crushing Ape, but Kilt Flasher is on deck if I can find it.

Which DB's have you tried? Vienna Lager Eight Point IPA Striped Bass Pale Ale Kilt Flasher Gold Leaf Lager Catty Wompus Pear Lager Risen Seven Summits Danzig Another State of Kind Double Pacific-style Ale Session IPL Reilly's Red Double Gooch Devil's Tale The Devil Went Down to Oregon Wood-aged Kilt Flasher Space Fruit I looked back at my rating of Kilt Flasher and I only gave it 2.5 stars, which was surprising to me. I usually like scotch ales. I may have to give it another try.

I had the Hot Shot Jalepeno IPA last night. It was pretty good. Jalepeno flavor, and not much heat. As soon as I opened the bottle, I could smell the peppers, which I liked.
