How can they charge that guy with murder ? If you are in the commission of a crime that results in injury or death to others you can be arrested and charged under the premise that your illegal behavior set in motion events that otherwise would not have happened. So you can charge someone but convicting them is another matter. I'm thinking he will plead guilty to voluntary manslaughter in exchange for the murder charge being dropped. It's Texas......so if he's smart he will plead down.

Cop HAD to pursue, because cops have no choice in the matter. Something moves fast and they MUST give chase. Like dogs after squirrels, they can't think, they can only react. No choice but to chase as fast as they can. Faster, even. Without considering anything but the chase. Go, cop, go.
