...lie its ass off about gun control issues again.
Had some guy on that was supposedly a gov't official - forget what but Treasury I think - talk about the "gun show loophole" and that "40% of guns used in crime are bought at gun shows" according to some research he said their agency did.
Hmmm...
First of all, he and the moderator conspired to make the audience believe that all guns at gun shows were sold without background checks. This is an absolute lie - go to the expo center some weekend and buy a gun. You're going to get background checked, its the law. The only way you won't is if you meet some guy walking around with a sign on his back saying, ".30-06 Win 70, $500" and meet him in the parking lot or in his driveway at home and buy it there. Private citizens do not need to do background checks, although anyone selling to anyone they believe will use it criminally is, I believe in most states, liable for prosecution for that. But that is the gun show loophole. Pass a law against it and do you think it would "shut it down?" Legal sales would just get a background check done, and sales between criminals would continue, y'know? I mean, they're criminals...
But anyway, here's a quote from a gov't report:
"In 2004, among state prison inmates who possessed a gun
at the time of offense, less than 2% bought their firearm at
a flea market or gun show and 40% obtained their firearm
from an illegal source."

So, anyway, CNN lies once again about guns and gun crime and so forth, and once again I have no reason to watch them. I was only watching them last night because I mostly can't stand Greg Gutfeld on Fox in particular, and the show "Redeye" in general. Greg left "Redeye" a few months ago, but I think he was back on last night, not sure. So either it was "Redeye" or "The Greg Gutfeld Show" that I sought refuge from, and since there wasn't any poker on one of the sports channels, unwisely landed on CNN.
BTW, their next segment was whining about how many weddings and other gatherings were being targeted by warplanes in Yeman, and killing the poor suspected terrorists. Do I believe them? Why should I, they just lied to me about guns, why not lie about some more favorite liberal whining points? OBTW, the warplanes dropping the bombs on the Yemani "innocents" were / are all Saudi.
