I just stopped in there for the first time last night. Real nice guy running the place (looks exactly like his logo). Selection is a bit small, but all good. I got a mixed 6 of: Ninkasi - Sleigher Ninkasi - Total Domination Ninkasi - Dawn of the Red Great Lakes Brewing - Christmas Ale Evil Genius - Santa! I know him! Dogfish Head/Woolrich - Pennsylvania Tuxedo Also, keep your vegetables the fuck out of my beer drawer.

I'm too lazy to take a picture at the moment but let's say our universes are damn near parallel. My beer drawer is unencumbered by cucumbers. It's currently stocked with Lienenkugel's Winter Drift (Vanilla Porter).

That's good stuff.
Poppa Hop is on Rt. 2, in the industrial park/retail area across from the country club. Same area as Maltese Brewing, which I would have also patronized had they been open yesterday. Also, they're on facebook, if you're into that kind of thing.

So is it a store? A pub? A little of both?
And yes the Snow Drift is very tasty. I had a different vanilla porter at Hard Times the other night that I may like a little bit better but I don't remember what it was called/made by. I just texted my waitress to ask what it was. LOLerzes

Probably Breckenridge Vanilla Porter, they get pretty good coverage around here. Poppa Hop does mixed 6 packs, a few bombers, and even some gourmet food. They also fill growlers when they get kegs of things. I don't believe they serve on the premises, but I imagine you may be able to taste a bit of whatever they have on tap for growler fills. www.facebook.com/Poppahopbottleshop/?fref=ts

Has anyone tried Rusty Beaver Brewery in Ruther Glen? I've had a few of their beers, but haven't really gotten "into" them yet.

I was by there one day and wanted to check it out but didn't have time. It's a pretty far hike to go for so-so beer. Guess I'll wait for fate to take me back that way.
