I'm curious as to what happened here.
If Bob was insulting Larry because Larry was talking about how much trash we produce, then Bob is being a total asshole. I have no idea what Larry did to you, but he is a good person. I don't always see eye to eye with him, but unlike others, he is open to listening to other viewpoints and truly wants to educate himself on issues.
I like you Bob, but lately you've been coming off as the left-wing version of Rally - not willing to listen to even a hint of a rational argument, or even look at the opposing side.
As for the garbage patch, it's one of many, and our water is rapidly becoming polluted with plastic particles from 'recycling'. It should scare the shit out of everyone, but of course no one will do anything about it.

Mostly I am brief because I am on a phone. Sorry if Larry didn't get that I was filling in for rally. The plastic pile of the Pacific is way huge.
