All cancer sucks of course, but some types suck worse than others. Co-worker's partner has end-stage pancreatic cancer. He was diagnosed less than a year ago - it was already at stage 4 by then Because the symptoms mimic so many other lesser illnesses, pancreatic cancer usually isn't diagnosed until it's way too late. S is only 32. He had a whole life ahead of him that now has been stolen. Doctors told him Monday that he needs to get his affairs in order, because now it's just a matter of time The only bright side is that they're in Canada - leave policies are different there, so C can take off 3 months with pay to stay with him. Just horrible - I cannot find words to express how much I hate cancer.

Terrible disease. This type is extremely painful, no hope, and hard on the family. The wife's aunt died of this, again pretty young, and was devastating. I hope the family finds peace.

So sorry for your impending loss. Yes, cancer sucks, and that particular cancer is all but incurable. It's what killed Patrick Swayze, and of course he had all the money it might take to fight it, but the doctors just don't know how to cure it, its currently impossible.

I believe it can be treated if caught early, but the issue is that it almost is never caught early. The main symptoms are abdominal pain, and that could be just about anything.
You're not going to order tons of tests and perhaps a biopsy for someone who is probably just constipated after all. And it's a fast-spreading cancer, so if you don't get the tests done at the first signs of symptoms, it's too late.
Ovarian cancer is the same way - the initial symptoms are very vague, so it's not an easy thing to diagnose.
Just totally sucks. Totally.
