is very useful for me at times but "real" meditation takes years of study and practice, especially for western culture. The next best thing that I've found is "guided" meditation. Youtube and even some apps out there have a plethora of folks producing these guided meditations. I've had to listen to dozens and dozens of them to find ones that I can connect to. Their voice, tone, cadence, subject matter, a lot of things you'll notice that relax you while others may not. I usually can tell in about a minute or less who is going to work for me and who isn't.
