with Cosner and Woody Harrelson as Frank Hamer, the old texas ranger that tracked down Bonnie and Clyde. Frank Hamer in real life was much more badass than Cosner could ever portray, but this was a very good presentation. Very entertaining.

Nothing works technology wise out here. I wonder what kind of WiFi signal we'd get a brisbon center.

Saw movie last night over NefFlix at friend's house (since I don't do streaming.) Excellent flick, too bad it didn't come thru theaters, I'd have enjoyed it more on a big screen with big sound and movie snacks. You didn't get the raw evil of the 2 miscreants in the long-ago movie that was so popular like you do in this one. Have to wonder about people idolizing them, although they did rob banks, and everybody hated the banks at the time due to the depression.

I was thinking what if a bunch of quasi peace officers conducted a stop on a highway today and fired 1000 rounds into a moving occupied car with the same results today. Then I realised it still happens. Gay Edgar Hoover made a living on these rube depression era locals, and until 1957 he denied to Congress there was organised crime in America, all the while meeting with Frank Costello and living 2 doors down from LBJ in DC. He set the pattern for secret files and extortion and a security police state, and we should honor him for that. For all his media propaganda, training facilities, and tv specials he still had to have a hard assed old texas ranger to get the job done.

Why the slur? Hoover was a power abusing bastard, which had nothing to do with his presumed but unconfirmed sexuality. Seems pointlessly gratuitous and more like something *I* would write. His sexuality, whatever it was, didn't make him an extortionist, you know.

I think you need a vacation. No, it didn't affect his moral outlook, but it did make him susceptible to blackmailing by the mob and cya, which compromised him and led to bad things.

Someone MADE him extort others, by extorting him? That's what you're going with?
PS I'm sorry that my fatigue made you use a slur. Lots of that "someone else made me act" stuff going on.

If you know anything about history, or life in general, or anything, you would know that Hoover was protective of his bureau and more so about his job and public image. While blackmailing MLK, the Kennedys, and every politician in Washington he became vulnerable through his own weaknesses. This led him to be complicit in a lot of foul things. No one MADE him do anything, they just led him to play ball their way which was in his interest anyway. Have you considered taking midol?
