I know a woman can be scarred for life from an assault. I don't dispute that, even a little bit because I personally know women who have been assaulted, both as children and adults. In those instances it was an unwanted attack/s on them in which they had no control, no defense, and did nothing that even remotely could be construed as consent. Anyone can understand the trauma that goes along with that.

Suffering his whole life may be exaggerated, but he will probably suffer lingering repercussions. Sexual harassment does that.

Based on what I've read so far, the kid was a very willing participant, which makes it difficult for me to believe he's going to suffer any PTSD type thing. It would be easier to believe that he might suffer from other negative personality disorders when dealing with women as he gets older but I wonder if that seed wasn't planted well before that teacher entered the picture.
BTW I'm not saying she's not a sick perverted pedophile because she certainly is, and deserves to spend a LOT of time behind bars for what she did. Regardless of the kid's role in it, she sure as hell knew better.

Except that he’s 13 and she’s his teacher - an authority figure. Granted, thirteen year olds can have crushes and sexual thoughts about women, even older ones, but I’m thinking “willing participant” is a bit of an overreach. Just my opinion. I suppose the girls Epstein brought in we’re willing, too? Im having a real hard time with these crimes against children these days. It seems more and more perverts are cropping up, particularly in our area. It sickens me.

Why do we even HAVE statutory rape for consensual sex? Why do even HAVE an age of consent?

It's not overdramatic at all. This was an older woman who went out of her way to seduce a kid who was insecure and open to abuse. She probably told him that he was a total stud, and way too smart and sophisticated to be with the losers in his school, and truly deserved and was capable of being with an older, more mature woman who would treat him 'right'.
And when he reached the point of no return, she reminded him that SHE was the one in charge. I suspect it was probably even more traumatic for him, because as a dude he must have felt he had absolutely no control over his body when he had an erection. I know that many women who have been raped or assaulted say that they feel their body betrayed them because they had an involuntary orgasm during the event.
Rape and abuse is rape and abuse. And yes, this kid is going to need a lot of therapy in order to have any type of normal relationship with a woman. So saying he'll be traumatized for the rest of his life by this is not unreasonable. Doesn't mean that he can't go on to live a good life, but this will always be a part of it, and will affect every relationship he has going forward.
Like any child rapist, she should be locked away for good.

Im sorry but I 😂 at that post. No wonder boys think they're girls. Women not only allow, but actually encourage them to be pussies, and further perpetuate the victim good culture for their innocent little boys when they bite from the sweet juicy apple. It makes me a bit I'll to think about it.

Same goes for girls, right? They're mature, and feeling ALL THAT because an older guy sexed them up. Hot. To. Trot. WOOWOO!
What are statutory rape charges for anyway?

Nice. When a 13 or 14 year old girl sexts an older person and acts/talks provocatively, yeah. Sorry to hurt people's feelings for saying even kids know what they're doing sometimes. Even girls but that would be sexist to point that out.😉

So what are statutory rape charges and age of consent for?

It's to protect children because they aren't mature enough to make their own life decisions yet. They are not judged equipped to deal with the circumstances created by their decisions. So, we protect them.
It's not a surprise to me that an erstwhile willing yet immature individual could suffer life changing negative impacts of their immature choices to get their bone on with an authority. I would expect it to mess with their heads.
It's the same as priests molesting their charges, isn't it?
