ABC has revived a bunch of game shows from the past.
I always like Pyramid, so we watch that, but I never really watched To Tell The Truth when it first aired. I have to say that I'm enjoying the remake - people have done some pretty weird and interesting things for sure.
There was one dude who has the world record for holding a plank, another who holds the world's record for solving a rubik's cube with his feet.
It's also interesting to see how well the imposters can lie - some of them are pretty obvious because they mess up a fact about the incident, but others are pretty convincing. It's a nice distraction from current events

I liked SNL's parody of pyramid, and of course Jeopardy! We've watched basically 0 tv over the last 4 months and now that we have basic dish service, I see we haven't missed a damn thing.
I remember growing up watching To Tell The Truth, The Dating Game (saw Farrah Fawcett who?), The Newlywed Game, Hollywood Squares, The Price is Right... Can't think of the others right now but I'm sure there were more.

To Tell The Truth will always remind me of my grandmother. She watched that religiously. Mom was a Jeopardy viewer when it was on in the afternoons. I can remember her lying on her stomach on the living room floor watch it while my sister and I โscratchedโ her back, combed her hair, etc. Simple times.

Hollywood Squares always reminded me of my great-grandfather. He loved Charlie Weaver. And yeah, life was a lot simpler - the biggest worry was whether you could get the good spot in front of the fan before your older siblings claimed it. And I can't watch Jeopardy without thinking of the SNL parody! My mom is a total Jeopardy addict - we call it the sacred half-hour where no one is allowed to call or speak unless they are answering in the form of a question

Lol. I was like that with Jeopardy! too, I'd have my kids keep score.๐
Password? That was one, right?

Mr. Minx loves Password - there's a channel that plays old game shows and he's always watching Password and Password Plus.

My memory as a kid and game shows was on the days I stayed home sick of school and watched The Price Is Right because it was on in the mid morning iirc. Right after Kimba and Jonny Quest.

What about Truth or Consequences? What do we have for them in the box, Don Pardo?

My minor claim to fame was that my mom was on two game shows back in the day Sale of the Century - she lost because she kept on buying the special deals - who the hell needs a mink stole? Who What or Where - she made it to the final round, had 500 in the bank, and chickened out on the final question because she would have had to bet it all to win, and 500 smackers was a lot of cash. Sale of the Century had a bunch of seasons - we've been watching on and off hoping to see the one my mom was on.

I don't remember either one. I tried to get on Bozo because I wanted to win the stuff in the red buckets. I think they filmed in Maryland somewhere and figured I could take the metro bus ๐

I watched Mickey Mouse faithfully, hoping to see them say, โI see Pam!โ

I have no idea how I remembered that. But can see her with her magic magnifying glass saying the names of kids. Now we have people boycotting freaking Sesame Street.

I had a feeling that Mickey Mouse was the wrong show, but couldnโt pull the correct one out of my cluttered mind. โI tried to think, but nothing happened!โ Curly from the 3 Stooges.
