Oh man, I feel so bad for that neighbor. He was just trying to make sure she was safe, and did what everyone is always told to do. He's 100% not to blame, but you could just hear in his words that he will spend the rest of his life blaming himself for this.
Any bets on whether this cop walks?

Only if he feared for his life or something.

Resigned. Charged with murder. Apparently "not cooperating". Probably per the advice of union lawyers.

Most of that leaves me shocked, shocked.
What a world where cops are allowed to be overcome by their emotions and "civilians" have to remain calm and rational when some emotional authoritarian has them at gun point.

Let's not forget the entire narrative that says the best way to be 'safe' is to purchase a gun. So what happens when you have said gun, people are wandering outside of your house and you pick it up to feel a little more secure? BLAMMO!

The gun thing is bullshit the department used the same way they always do when they have to try and justify shooting innocent people. Blame the victim is job #1.

They should wear protective gear every time they're within shooting distance if a cop.
