I don't know, what kind of gun were they using? I've been told by a reliably responsible gun owner that a handgun is a defensive weapon.

Besides the point. A match is an extremely dangerous weapon in the wrong hands.

Look, only offensive guns kill people, not defensive ones. It's a science fact, and pairs well with "guns don't kill people, people kill people".
I'm with you, that should be multiple attempted murder charges for those wannabe killers.

If you catch some of these people who like to play with guns, which is not often, and turn them back on the street until next time, you ask for someone's death. I hope that the charges will be upgraded, but I doubt it. Too many plea deals being cut. These 2 players don't belong on the street. St Louis is one of the most dangerous areas in the US, you'd think the prosecutor there would be more aggressive.

What happened to reserving judgment until we hear from Both Sides?

Don't do that.

Can I do this?:
As long as we pretend that everyone who wants one (with few exceptions) should have a gun, we are guaranteed more of these killings. Gare. On. Teed. Putting a perp behind bars is fine, but our gun worship ensures a continuous stream of murder. If that's something worth worrying about.
And these two subject idiots should definitely be charged with attempted murder. Now once they do their time, they should have full restoration of rights, including gun ownership. Maybe voting.
PS Do they count as "on the street" while on bail? Sounds like maybe no bail ever for "playing with guns" crimes.
