Doesn't sound like they showed up at will and it's pretty obvious that there was more to it than what his lawyer is putting out there. Of course the cop/s are completely justified in whatever they do with their authority, as per usual, until the bitter end.

There may be more to it, but at the same time I always find it interesting that the police feel the need to release any and all information that would paint the victim in a bad light in order to make people think the victim had it coming.
If this dude wasn't convicted of a felony, he had every right to have 200 guns in his house if it made him happy. And he 100% had the right to grab one if he felt threatened. Because second amendment. And since the NRA has brainwashed people into thinking that the only true way to be safe is to have a gun, the cops better get used to people holding one when they answer the door to a stranger.
