Are you still celebrating last night's win?

Man. What a great ball game. I was so stoked, well a mix of stoked and stressed out, after, that it took me 2 hours to settle down enough to even try to sleep.
I'm sure a lot of people watching thought they backed in, being a wild card team and all, but I'll bet most of them think differently now. They belong.

Wow! Can they actually win it all at home? Maybe even sweep twice? 👏🏻👏🏻🎊

While I am rooting for the good guys, I have to say that I was sad for the Astros last night. That was a good tight game until the 7th, and it has to hurt to get spanked like that in your own house. I can't believe how quickly they fell apart after that first homer.
Now to hope for good weather on the way home. And to tell whatever jackasses are looking into a parade to STOP! You don't plan shit like that this early - it's way bad mojo.

I don't feel sorry for them one stinking bit. Did you see that home run Bergman hit and then his "look at me I'm the king of baseball" walk down the first base line? It didn't take long for the baseball gods to catch up with his ass did it? 😂😂

I've got this feeling that the Nats won't win another game. Hope I'm wrong but they are showing all the signs of being done.

Just checked in and it doesn’t look promising, at least for DC. They’ll have it take it in TX.

It looks like both teams have a problem getting the job done at home. Hopefully the Nats will prove that to be true and take over Minute Maid again.

On TV it didn't sound like much. But them people started putting it on social media. So what happened was, Fox already had planned in advance (almost certainly at the instructions from el heftè) to cut the live audio from the stands, and told the broadcasters to not comment on the crowd reaction.
So many human scum at that game!

They tried. There was also a check swing called by that umpire later in the game called at the plate as a 3rd strike, and the batter clearly didn't go around. There's been some really questionable officiating in this WS and it's gone heavily in favor of Houston. Probably George Soros paying them.
When I was umpiring, that rule about the first base line was pretty simple. If you look at the first base line, you'll also see another line that parallels it to the right. It's called the 3 foot line. Per the rule, hitter-runners must stay in that "lane" on their way to first. The intention of the rule is to allow space for the defense to throw to first base on bunted balls. However, another rule is that the base runner always has the right to the base path. As long as he is not deviating from that direct path, he can't be called for interference unless he intentionally tries to contact the ball or the fielder.
That's all fine and good but the rules of baseball are sometimes like the Bible, and don't exactly agree from page to page. So this is where "judgement calls" come in. It's one of the biggest peeves I have with the game at any level. Very little should be ruled upon based on judgement. This play was one that shouldn't have been. By the first rule I cited here, Turner would have been called out per the fact that he was inside the baseline and even into the grass. That's pretty much the end of the story, right? Well, not so much. I've watched 1000s of ball games (and umpired hundreds) and can't recall this particular rule ever being enforced unless it was blatantly obvious the runner was attempting to interfere with the throw down the line. Edit: thinking more about it, I've seen runners deviate into the grass intending to get in the way of the throw, and NEVER seen it called. Furthermore, the ball went halfway down the THIRD BASE LINE, where it was fielded and the throw to first was ERRANT, which took the first baseman into the basepath. Refer to my second rule above.
Bottom line is; not just a bad call, but a very poor job on the part of the umpire applying the rule in the first place. He made himself a part of the game, which means he plays a part in the outcome, and that should never ever happen.

The umps should have acted like Kerry Fraser in the Easter Epic (https://thehockeynews.com/news/article/recalling-the-easter-epic-25-years-on)
KERRY FRASER (STANDBY REFEREE): There was a lot of stuff going on on the ice. There wasn’t going to be a penalty – or at least, there wasn’t going to be one called.
In the second intermission, I remember bumping into (Capitals coach) Bryan Murray. He said to me, ‘Kerry, let me ask you a question: Are there going to be any f—— penalties called tonight?’ And I said, ‘Bryan, I think you can rest assured, unless there’s a murder out there, there’s not going to be a call.’ He just shrugged his shoulders and walked away.

Probably did a better job than Joe Torre. Refuse to listen to his explanation regardless. He's from the old school mindset that thinks baseball has "unwritten rules" that must be followed but actual rules that can be let go. See the old "neighborhood play" for all you need to know about his work.

If the neighborhood play was applied to batters, long fouls and ground rule doubles should be homers.
