Screw hockey? Did you just say screw hockey? How dare you sir?! How dare you?!
Just saying that the umps could learn something from Kerry Fraser - that man skated without socks at the time, and was dumping blood out of his skates between OT periods, but he knew to just let them play and may the best team win.
Let those boys play, and GO NATS!

As much as I'd love to go, I'm probably going to watch it on the picture box. I don't do well with crowds anymore nor can my back take walking/standing for any length of time.

I watched the Caps parade on the tee-vee as well. While it was a beautiful day and would have been nice to see in person, I didn't want to get up at the crack of dawn to get a decent spot, and I didn't think my feets could take all the standing.
Was a great game between two good teams. When Osuna came in, I knew it was probably over.
But why is Cole so pissed off? Is he pulling a Harper?

I hadn't heard about him yet but whatever. He may have been available, according to the manager, but he was on only two days rest and never pitched in relief in his professional career. Would I have put him in there after grienke? Absolutely. No question. You have to get your best players in that game. This is why Dave Martinez pissed me off about leaving Victor Robles in the lineup for all of games 6 and 7, when he should have been benched after game 3. He was a dud the entire series offensively. Michael A Taylor is a ++ centerfielder and had a great NLCS.
I will look up coles story later.
"WE WON THE FIGHT"!

Cole's whole "I'm no longer a member of the team" attitude was just cracking me totally up though. If Osuna had actually gotten the job done, Cole would have been dancing with the rest of them. I guess Cole decided he doesn't want play anymore...

Cole's whole "I'm no longer a member of the team" attitude was just cracking me totally up though. If Osuna had actually gotten the job done, Cole would have been dancing with the rest of them. I guess Cole decided he doesn't want play anymore... It's not like there's any loyalty to the name on the front of the jerseys anymore, not by anyone, in any pro sport. And on the flip side, the organizations have no loyalty to the names on the back of the jerseys anymore either. It's a two way street for sure but I think greed on the part of the players is the real villan here. The Bryce Harper thing is only one of many, but a prime example nonetheless. The organization was willing to pay him well over 300 million dollars to stay here. He would have left for 300 million and 10 dollars. I know that might be a bit skewed but at the end of the day, he was already a very very rich 20 something kid that was going to be profoundly richer. To play baseball, not cure cancer. So fuck Bryce and Cole and everyone else that doesn't think twice about selling out their city, their fans, and their teammates. Next up: Anthony Rendon and probably Stephen Strasburg

Well to give the devil it's due, the owners tended to screw over the players a lot more in the past, and now the scales have somewhat evened out some.
And at the end of the day, it is a job and the players should have the right to seek a different employer if they are unhappy where they are.
But, it's gotten completely out of control with salaries. I realize that these men have a short playing career, and the risk of irreversible physical harm is overwhelmingly high. And I realize that the big names in the sports - the Bradys, Ovechkins, Stasburgs bring in lots of money for teams. So from that standpoint, I don't have a problem with these guys making some money.
Note I said 'some', not hundreds of millions. And the sad thing is that the players, agents and owners are pricing themselves out of the market.
My daughter wants to go to a Caps game - looked up tickets - for a Saturday game against the Vancouver Canucks (not a major rival), the cheapest seats were $54 - top of the stadium, with a crap view of the ice surface. So if the three of us went, that's $162 (before service charges), plus transportation (parking and metro fees). This of course assumes no food or drinks at the game either. I love hockey, but where I used to split a season ticket with 2 others back in the day, now I go to one game and watch the rest on the TV - last year we went to 2 because my mom bought us tickets as a Christmas gift.
Yet all these sports wonder why kids aren't interested as much - well when mom and dad can't afford tickets because the team just paid $300 mil for a single player there could be an issue....

The past has nothing to do with it. If you wanna go there, lots of our sports heroes used to work day jobs!
I'm not saying they shouldn't be rewarded because without them, the stands are empty no matter what the seats cost. The market makes it all possible and the market is made possible by the thrill of high level competition. But markets crash. This one will too, eventually.

Redskins tickets are cheap. Perhaps she’d enjoy watching them get routed?

The parade seemed cool. Huge crowd. Biggest crowd to ever celebrate a world series, PERIOD!
But that rally after the parade seemed super lame. The crowd for that part were zombies.

It could be they had no audio from the crowd. But it sure wasn't like the Iggles' Superb Owl celebration.
I thought the mayor sucked. Shut up with "back to back", how about you enjoy this accomplishment? Christ. Asswipe.
Also, yeah, Stras opted to test the free agency waters.

The one in 83 for the Redskins was freaking bananas. Or was it 87? Or 93? I can never remember.😁
