I'm losing hope rapidly that we can nominate someone who can actually beat Trump. Too much in-fighting, and not enough crafting a message.

I did like one post I read today - why don't all these billionaires who have suddenly decided that they need to run stay at home and do what really will help the party and country - namely spending money and time campaigning for democrats running for state offices, and congress?

Tucker Carlson is having a scripted panic attack about Michelle Obama running. None of the Democrats seems to share his concern.😂

I don't know. We've become a nation of "What's good for me is good for me, and the rest of you can fuck yourselves".
So, I wouldn't put it past these people to vote for Trump because the stock market is good, or they sold 5 more pizzas this quarter than they did last quarter.
The Democrats need to play to the center, and not the far left if they want to win this thing.
And I really do worry. Sanders is seen as too radical - he may have a good domestic policy IMO, but I can't picture him helping our image overseas at all. Warren is seen as too elitist - she has great ideas, but tends to make things over complicated, and her speaking style is awful IMO - sounds like a teacher lecturing a bunch of idiots. Mayor Pete is more to the center, but he has a huge problem with minorities, and if you look at his record as mayor, he hasn't done much. Biden is way too out of touch. I don't really see the rest as contenders right now, but who knows?
I just pray that whoever gets the nod has the common sense to tell Hilary to shut up and stay home!

Right now I'm pulling for buttgag, butigoog, whatever. I think minorities better get the fuck over themselves, wake up, and get a really good side by side of Trump v Pete when it comes to which one better represents their interests now and especially in the future. Most of these minorities you speak of are homophobic Bible thumping cross humpers to begin with. The very last people he should worry about IMO.

In terms of being a moderate, Pete has done the best job of portraying himself that way. And he's certainly white middle-class guy bland, so he has that going for him as well. Of course the issue will be with having a man who is not only gay, but married to another man so the homophobes can't pretend he's celibate.
But the biggest thing the Democrats are fighting against is inertia. Too many people aren't paying attention to anything in the White House and really don't care about it either because they feel it doesn't affect them. Until of course they need government assistance and it's not there - then it matters.
I don't know how we get past that - the idea that other people don't matter and that an issue is only important when it affects you directly.

I think they need to talk about climate change more. That is a huge issue for the young voters.
