I fell yesterday. 99 94/100 sure I tore my unrepaired rotator cuff. Insurance will cover the work, but goddamn it, the recovery is minimum 6 months, and the first 12 weeks in a sling. 12 weeks. FML.

Oh man, that does suck. Friend in Canada fall and shattered her shoulder. I don't know how, but they manipulated it all into place without surgery. But it was a long and painful recovery. (BTW, she was happy to forgo the surgery - they did say that she could get a second opinion on it if she wanted)

So sorry to hear this. Let me know if there’s anything you need. I have pulleys, elastic bands, etc.

Thanks, everyone.
I have the pulleys and such from the surgery I had on the OTHER wing. That's why I know it's a long recovery. Surgery takes 20 or 30 minutes, and recovery is 6 months to a year!
I have to dance like a monkey for insurance. So, I got an xray that we all know will not show the soft tissue damage. Mmmm, tasty roentgens! Then when it shows nothing, I can get the MRI. Monday I'll figure out if I have to see my PCP before the MRI or f I can just get it and take it to the ortho.
On the plus side, I have a good range of motion, it's just really painful and weak.

I mean, maybe it's not totally hosed (confirmed by MRI) and some PT to avoid surgery for now?
You might have to get that BP issue under control before surgery too, right?

Correct on both counts. That I have range is a good sign.

Good for you. Going under the knife again and the months of rehab would suck.
Insurance approved my transforaminal nerve block and I go Tuesday for that. It would be nice if that takes the pain down a few notches so I can get back in the treadmill. It's been too painful this week to get in there to do anything.
