starting to register with the great and powerful ooze that his numbers are so bad that he has to actually do a complete 180 on his covid 19 response. First it was his mask stunt and now.....
He just canceled the GOP convention. "It's not the right time..." He says.

What a wasteful child.
Unsafe for the convention, but fine for school.

Hey now! He has NO problem sending his son or grandkids back to school.
As long as it's a private one with a student body of no more than 20 kids who are tested everyday, and teachers who are required to self-quarantine within the school.
What fries my bacon is that the majority of school districts seem to have not considered the possibility that schools might not be able to re-open before now. Since they already know the basics of in-person learning, the assumption should have been that schools will re-open. Then all of the energy could have been focused on a truly viable virtual alternative, along with plans on how to educate students with disabilities, get internet service to those who are in areas of poor service (Hello, Rob Witless - perhaps you could actually DO something here, rather than introduce useless bills studying the issue), and get food to students who are on free and reduced lunch programs.
But Nooooooooo. Instead we're all still wasting time on this back and forth hybrid shit still. And parents who have cash are pooling it together and having 'pod' school - a group of families who know and feel comfortable with each other pool their money and hire a teacher so their kids don't have to do virtual school and get the socialization that little kids need. Of course, if you don't have enough cash to do that, then screw you.
