Kamala Harris wasted no time going all-in with the identity politics.
It's going to turn off a lot of those moderates on both sides. Joe fucked up by making that promise and then choosing her. Syphilitic musings of a devil's advocate.... She's not black. She has no more connection with her black ancestry than the guy that details her Saab. Her father was black and split just like Obama's did. Sup with that? They have the DNA but not the cultural equivalents of a child born to two black parents with two sets of black grandparents. It makes me think that Stacy Abrams must have been too black.
Ok torch me, I deserve it. But I most likely wouldn't have ever had these thoughts if Biden hadn't started this stupid game, and she came in playing it for all it's worth. Doesn't change my vote but I definitely worry about whose it might.
Don't get it twisted. I see Kamala Harris as a very intelligent person, certainly fit for any office she serves in. I just don't think the racial, ethnic, demographics are of any consequence in her effort and shouldn't to the American voter either.

Like identity politics bs was somehow going to be skipped this election? She's both insufficiently black and too black, according to the right.

I didn't hear her claiming to be 'only' Black. What I heard was that she had experienced discrimination based on the color of her skin. And that she had a unique understanding of it, which was one of many things she was bringing to the table with her. And that she would fight for all voices to be heard.
Because like it or not, this country still revolves around the opinions and mores of a stereotypical white middle-class man. And that needs to stop.

"My mother raised me to be a strong black woman".
Sorry but I think the high emphasis being placed on her vi sa vi identity politics is a feeble strategy akin to pandering.
She is so much more than her DNA and that is going to take a backseat to the "token" image the party and she is being used for. I don't like it.
