For some football? I’m not. I haven’t been reading any sports sites like I used to. I delete my yardbarker newsletter without even opening it every morning. M mildly interested in seeing if Groningen and Brady still have that magic but overall I’m just meh.

I’ll probably watch the opener on Thursday, just because there’s not much else to watch.

The opener is on Thursday?
I have to say that I'm impressed by Alex Smith's comeback, but after that injury I don't know that I'd play football again.

That's why they're putting the other kid out there to start. Someone that can run for their lives while the offensive line lays down when the ball is snapped. Once they prove they can protect the QB, then you'll see Smith. You will, I won't.

I won't either - perhaps I'll read about it in the papers.

I ended up just watching a couple series before I went on my ice run. Switched to something else when I got home. Now with Tampa vs Saints Sunday I may watch more!

I saw the score on the news crawl on the 10 o clock snooze. I was thinking "Oh that game was today?"

This game (Bucs/Saints) is horrible. I wonder if the players still believe they don’t need a preseason? The defenses look good but the offenses require a lot of improvement.
ETA: Brady to Gronk 3 times for 2 completions and 11 yards with 12 minutes to go. 😂

I do wonder how the pandemic is going to affect sports going forward. The NHL has already announced that their salary cap will not increase for next year, so players who are free agents, are probably screwed. Wondering if the next thing will be teams trying to convince the top players to take a salary decrease.
And it doesn't seem like there's a ton of interest in the NBA or MLB either right now either. Shows that without fans, lots of people simply don't care.
Hopefully the one good thing to come out of this will be that the owners and the leagues stop being the greedy assholes that they are, and start appreciating the fans. They can start by lowering ticket prices.

The pandemic has shaken a lot into perspective for some people. Then there are the oblivious ones...

The one person I want to hear from right now is the guy who won the fan auction.
Remember back when all the shut-downs started and there was a huge auction/sweepstakes by Fantatics to raise money for food banks? A lot of the prizes were in person experiences - game tickets and things like that.
Well the 'top' prize (in terms of money raised) was a 'game day' experience with the Bucs - Tickets to the home opener, dinner with Brady and his game used jersey. Logan T from Florida paid over 750K to get that baby. Wonder how he feels about his prize now.... I hope he at least got an outdoor picnic with Tommy....
