of all registered voters in Texas have already voted and the total number of early votes has reached 80% of the total number of votes in the 2016 elections. You can use the info in this link to maybe get a feel for who is voting, why they voted early, and possibly make an educated guess at who those votes are going to. apps.texastribune.org/features/2020/texas-early-voting-numbers/I bring this up not because I believe in fairy tales but these numbers, not only in Texas but most other states, but because I've theorized that that this means at least one of the following: 1. People are voting early to avoid being in long lines during the pandemic on election day. 2. People desperately want Trump gone. 3. People desperately want Trump re-elected. Probably all 3. But if he loses Texas, we're talking landslide (400 electoral votes for Biden?) and an epic embarrassment not only for Trump but for the entirety of the GOP. Again, not trying to get excited about anything. I have bleeding nubs where fingernails should be.

Lots of states are reporting high numbers of early voters. And like you I'm not sure what it portends. I think the people who talk to the media or pollsters after they cast their votes are the ones who want to declare their preference to the world. It would be interesting to know how many people pass by with a no comment. Cause they're the ones who probably matter.
I doubt it will happen, but I really wish the democrats would keep up the registration drives and pushes for people to come out and vote for each election like they are for this one. A lot of the money for this is coming from the national party - they should continue the campaign - encourage people to learn about local candidates - cause that's where the big candidates start out. Everyone needs to be reminded that Trump is an outlier - most of the people they elect don't materialize out of thin air like he did.

I'm standing in line as I type. There were between 70-80 people in front of me when I got here. I've heard they have one or two machines. Hoping my back holds up longer than breathing through this mask.

Was it a small room? Otherwise, I don't get the three booth thing. It's not like they're all that heavy or anything, and they can also set up cardboard dividers at tables for extra space.
We were in the conference room at the Stafford airport, which is not as large as you might think. Even then we had 7 booths going, and a table with two portable dividers. And we had them all full. Get you in, get you out. That was our mantra for the day.

So it was basically the "lobby". 3 was Max capacity for the booths with the ballot machine in there. I seriously doubt they've ever had this many people vote early here at the Lburg registrar's office. My great aunt, God Rest, worked there a long time ago but I don't recall her talking about much.
