We got our 2nd shots yesterday. I've got a big ol rasberry on my arm today and the mfer is SORE. Seems like I was sore for a few days after the first one but no tumor.
When we got there I'd say the line outside the building was about 20 people or so and she forgot her jacket. No sooner than we got in line a deputy comes out and opens the doors up. Apparently the volunteers took a lunch break and opened back up at 1 for 2nd dose appts only. We got our shots and back in the car in less than 15 minutes. Can't say enough about the great job and people of Campbell County DMS, EMS, and everything they are doing.

Yay! Pain at the injection site was the only symptom I had with the second dose. A friend that was vaccinated at the same time had a fever as well. I told him that was proof that I got the placebo. 🤣

My second vaccine was sore where they poked me, and I zonked out and slept for hours. No other effects.
Mary Wash did a great job, the longest bit was observation after the jab.

I forget John - are you one of the Moderna Gang, or Team Pfizer?
Either way, hope you and the missus are doing well, and the only side effect is a sore arm and lots of naps

Mo-dare-na as Fauci says. Her body was akin to a test crash dummy yesterday. Today is better. I told her to look for the most logical explanation (mister occam's razor) why one day would be so much worse.... well, she had the vax the day before.
UVA didn't want her taking the Ocrevus and vax in the same week because of "[medical speak]"..... so I'm guessing that one week or 4 weeks, when you are talking about these meds, is more a matter of guess than know.

100% a matter of guess - in Canada, the wait is 4 MONTHS between the first and second doses. It actually makes some sense, as they're starting to show that most of the immunity is conveyed in dose #1, and dose #2 is more of a booster.
Of course they didn't know that in the beginning, and given how paranoid everyone is here, I can see the logic in not changing the timing - people will scream bloody murder

More likely we'll press on and add another shot as another booster.

I know Pfizer is testing a booster to see if it does anything with the variants. I imagine Moderna must be looking into that as well.
But the true test has arrived - vaccination is open to all comers. How many 'healthy' people are going to go get a shot?

I'm still in absolute awe of the hysteria with the J&J vax. Now J&J might not be most trustworthy pharma out there but if I gave you a list of the top 20 most untrustworthy pharmas, there would be virtually a 20 way tie for first.
Less than one in a million chance of "blood clots". One in 6 million odds that the "blood clot" could cause your death. Help me with the math- Odds of getting infected with COVID, having serious illness from it, and dying from it?
Almost sounds to me like someone in high places has their hand on the buttons. Again.

Moderna arm is better today. Yesterday I had a persistent cough all day. The day before every bone and joint in my body was sore. Had maybe 3-4 hours of actual sleep since getting it.

I did read an article about the J&J and AZ that said people should be comforted by the fact that this shit is being so closely watched that such a insignificant side effect is enough to stop and pause. In other words, 99% of the stuff we take on a regular basis isn't being scrutinized this closely. If you're willing to down some NyQuil for your cold, you should be willing to get vaccinated - you're at a higher risk for something terrible happening from the NyQuil.
When they put it that way, it did make sense to me. Doubt it will make sense to the idiots looking for an excuse not to get jabbed though.
