I had a stupid conversation with someone yesterday that insisted if the vaccine doesn't work 100% in preventing you from getting infected... it doesn't work at all so he's not getting i*t.
Thanks bud. I'll get my fact sheets from a source that deals specifically with virology and infectious disease but if he would like to recommend a beer he's totally my guy (he's a beer salesman).
It's funny though. Most of the people that hand out over there have more or less indicated that they are majority, fully vaxed.
*He did get covid and was moderately sick but not hospitalized, so he got his lucky draw for now.

Oh yeah, unless it works 100% and has no side effects, then why bother getting it?
I agree with my co-worker. No excuses. No religious exemptions. And the CDC needs to come out with a set of guidelines that indicate who should not get the vaccine for medical reasons.
You ain't in that category, you get the shot.
And the so-called leaders of the free world need to get off their collective asses and get vaccines out to every damn country who needs them so variants don't keep popping up.

I still don't know that I'm comfortable with, if you call it what it is, a LAW that everyone has to be vaxed against this or anything (like HPV which Texas tried to mandate when you know who was Gov and also the Ceo of the company that made the HPV vax). I am more comfortable to do it the way we've always done it and made it impossible for the unvaxed to do certain things (like travel, go to school, and in many cases get or keep a job) without telling them they have no choice. To me it's right there with Roe v Wade but please humor me and not remind me the the differences. Now that I think about it, maybe the vax passport thing isn't as bad of an idea as I thought. All of us, and our parents had to keep records of our vaxes and show them upon enrolling our kids in school, or to get a passport, etc. Perfect example would be the superspreader they had in Danville a couple of weeks ago. No vax card, no 3 days of rock and roll for you fucknut. And when you get back to your job where you interact with other people on a daily basis, www.seattletimes.com/opinion/goodbye-and-good-riddance/

As usual I wasn't clear No government mandate, but also no exemptions. You want to go to a public school, get on a plane, visit a national park? No vaccine, no admission. As I told an asshole on FB - 100% your body, your choice. Just remember that your choice can come with disdain and outright hatred for those who disagree with that choice. Just like anti-life folks protesting at abortion clinics and calling the women who choose that service murderers. So don't whine to me about your 'rights' being violated. You're free to choose not to get inoculated, and I'm free to call you a fucking moron. And the government needs to get off their collective asses and find a better way of recording who was immunized and who wasn't. So that when you lose that stupid card, you have some sort of backup.

Tattoos are a little drastic. Republicans would prefer something more subtle. Perhaps a patch the vaccinated could sew on their clothes....

I had to know, so I googled him. He's now claiming that he and the spouse are cured and have 100% natural immunity! Praise be to God!
That's even scarier. Cause now this loon is going to tell his followers that Ivermectin and Prayer are the cure. Plus Covid isn't all *that* bad, and once you've recovered you have natural immunity! So it's okay to take NO precautions - in fact getting this shit isn't that bad. So if your relative gets it, go get some ivermectin, make them some soup and go sit with them. It's perfectly safe - the worst that will happen is that you too might get this 'flu-like' illness, but then you too will have natural immunity!
And I'm not knocking natural immunity, and we should be studying that a lot more than we appear to be at the moment. In theory, if you recover from covid, you should have some sort of immunity (like you do when you've had chicken pox), but how does it work? Do you just need to get it regardless of how mild the case is? How long does the immunity last? Shit like that needs to be studied.
