I was blown away by the number of comments on the article I read saying that this means justice won't be served.
WTF? The man is dead, and it seems pretty clear that he killed his fiancee. So wouldn't justice be not having him walk the face of the Earth anymore? Assuming he was alive and went to trial, I can't see her family being thrilled at the thought of hearing him try to justify her death. And if he was alive and confessed, I can't see them relishing the re-telling of her last moments on Earth.
Seems like if he ran and died as a result, that justice has been served. Better than him sitting in jail filing appeal after appeal, or applying for parole in 20 years.
And I'd love for the media to focus on other missing women who wouldn't otherwise get the love. Have the insta sleuths start trying to find the killers of Native American women, or Black women who aren't young and beautiful.

I can't see that any more justice was ever available. Woman is dead, nothing will bring her back. Next best option is punish the perp, and he's done that.

Justice was applied even if he self administered it. Ridding the world of murderers and rapist and all sorts of the worst of the worst if preferable to me than gathering them buildings with full access to a life that they've mercilessly denied to others.

Yes, but it deprives all of those following the story with baited breath of the thrill of reading his confession or watching a trial. And it's definitely all about them!
Wouldn't shock me if he broke down and told his parents the details and they told him to go get 'lost' in the woods, and gave him a certain amount of time before they'd tell police where to find his body. Regardless, it's a tragedy for them as well. I'm sure they loved this girl and were excited to have her as part of the family. And I can't see them thinking "Oh yeah, our son is a murderer!" They'll spend the rest of their lives with the knowledge that they did nothing to prevent this from happening, along with the loss of their son. And they won't be able to mourn his loss in any type of public way because of what he did.
He's a stone cold loser, but I don't see where either sets of parents are winners here. Neither set saw the signs, or if they did, they couldn't convince either one of them to separate. Ans they both have lost a child. Nothing but tragedy for them.

I suspect her family won't be happy until his parents are tarred and feathers and dragged through the street.
Because they *knew* he was bad news. Yet neither one of them seem to have offered to go get her on this trip, no questions asked if she called. And they seem like the "I told you so!" type of parents, so I suspect that poor woman didn't believe help would be coming from them. And her 'loving' supporters only became concerned when the soap opera started. I suspect she felt totally isolated and alone, and he made sure she knew that she wasn't going to be able to walk away easily, even though it was her van and her money.
Abuse is such a terrible and insidious thing - the abuser not only has been abusive, but has manipulated the victim to the point where they believe there is no help available from anywhere. And I suspect that this dude wasn't one of the worst at it either.
It would be nice if the slaying probe went to a call for more funding for domestic abuse centers, and a call for abusers to be held for more than 24 hours. Because that would be a great help for people trying to escape. But we all know that the media and public will be consumed with wondering if his bones were planted.
