So we now have our profile open on Officer Jones without knowing anything else about him. I'm going to bet on him being a former marine (first guess), for starters. Obviously had no intent to de-escalate the situation and a major case of combat tunnel-vision. In the footage it doesn't appear as though the attacker was armed nor was he a threat to the cops. Taser likely would have done just fine. Once upon a time, the braver men would have used their whack-a-mole stick and given him a little lump.

That said. Had I drawn my pistol and shot the fucker, I'd already be incarcerated for murder from the bullet that hit the poor girl and some kind of slaughter for tapping him with 2. He's on leave.


I feel so bad for the family that lost their little girl in such a senseless and random act of carelessness. I hope they nail that "cop" to the wall.

I felt sick when I first read about this. That poor girl was trying on dresses for her quincenera - one of the happiest days of her life. Instead her family will be holding her funeral. All because some asshole felt the need to shoot first and ask questions later

I wonder if she'll get a flag draped coffin driven slowly through the flag waving mourners lined up along streets and overpasses of her city, with officers in full dress uniform saluting as she passes.
