All NFL offensive and defensive linemen, as well as tight ends and LBs, are required to wear them in training camp. I truly hope they help. But why stop there?

You mean they should wear them on their little head too?

Why not real games? Why just practice? If they work, they should be used all the time! Like seatbelts.

They're testing them right now. This is the second round -in the first, I think only one team participated and they took feedback from the players on things like the fit, how they felt in terms of heaviness and being able to see clearly. So now they've expanded the test to all of the teams, but just for practices.
The other option is to train players not to lead with their heads, and have heavy penalties for those who do (like leaving the game, or having to miss the following game). But that would require trainers and coaches to change their ways, and we can't have that.
Ready a story about a HS team in New Jersey (this was before the pandemic) - the state had banned tackling in practice. This coach was totally not on board, but had no choice but to adapt. He worked with the players (who were all equally skeptical) using lots of pads and mats (which were allowed in practice) on both hitting and falling properly when hit.
Season was a winning one (as opposed to the previous season), plus only one player was injured (twisted ankle). Everyone on the team said that once they got over the no tackle rule, they found that they focused more on executing the play and maneuvering around the opposition.
I was a big fan of hockey fights and was pissed when they made rules to heavily penalize players who started/participated in them. But I will say that once that element was basically dropped from the game, you stopped seeing goons who couldn't skate, but knew how to punch, and started seeing players who knew how to move the puck and take a good shot on net - made the game a lot more fun to watch.
I bet football would be the same if they reduced some of the violence and focused on shit people really do want to see - beautiful passes, amazing runs and maybe some handoffs between players.

Thanks for pussifying sports for me yall, but that's why I gave up on most of them years ago thanks to the ongoing process of pussification... I'm so tempted to change my avatar to Mohammed Ali right now... LOL!

It's not a sport if there's no CTE.
