I drove behind a retired Navy person (his window sticker told me) with 2 dogs in the car - one large, the other medium-large. They were moving back and forth in the back seat, enjoying having their heads out the window taking in all the lovely smells. I smiled at first, then worried as speeds increased. It’s so dangerous to drive this way! If you allow pets to hang their heads out like that, they need goggles! So many eye injuries occur from this behavior. Also, it was obvious they weren’t contained. There are seatbelt attachments that work great at protecting our precious cargo, and still allow them access to windows. Untethered/uncontained animals in a vehicle become missiles in the event of an accident and YOU could be the target.
Just a public service message from someone who has driven hundreds of dogs to various locations.
