Some of the last dogs I fostered were a trio of Irish Wolfhound puppies,; they came to me around 6 months old from somewhere near Tazewell, VA. They were mixes and very very very very unsocialized. Every chance they got, they would hide under my deck and I would spend hours trying to get them out. One was lame in one back leg from a birth defect. Amazingly, I found great homes for them all. The lame boy went to a home in Fairfax, another went to Canada, and Finn went to live in Cape Cod (lucky boy!). He was the last to go for some reason (he was my fave). His family sent a hard copy photo album after a few months and I loved seeing his new life and how happy he seemed. Today, I received a new update - he has passed on. But look at his life! I woke up to this and cried. But they were mixed tears, of sorrow for the loss but also happy for his joyous life. I love receiving updates from the adopters. It’s a shame there are so few of them. photos.google.com/share/AF1QipMoHCVdD2xJ6rFXQgKJK0ZZmyXFKB0xdhy_ZdjTo92MwvR6njZSLpMtRdWmLhmpYw?key=d2syMi1BUlZEODVDdkVISnNhcVV4SzBvNGxRUXBnI got an update a week or so ago about a dog that had been with me for years. She’s a Georgia terrier mix, medium sized, that I just could not find a home for. She finally landed in CT and is with a wonderful family, living the life of a doted family member. Yes, I cried when I read that email, too.

What a beautiful boi! And so good too. Why didn't I get a good boi? Look at him arguing with his dad! So naughty
