Got a set of free tickets to the game tonight. Looking at the recent scores, seems like I should be hoping for good stadium food...

Last night's game was suspended in the 1st and will continue today beginning at 4:35. Feel sorry for the dudes on the field. Also feel sorry for the ticket holders - they can't come back tonight, but have to exchange for a different game. On the other hand it may be a blessing for those scheduled to attend last night!

I still have never been to a minor league game as an adult. The reason I make that distinction is because I have a very vague memory of seeing the Alexandria Dukes when I was a little. Might have even been a school field trip. That's all I got.
If I didn't point it out, the DDI is really called The (WOrld FAmous) Stadium Inn, I assume because it's right across the street from the Lynchburg Stadium. If you've gone out that way there's an exit that says STADIUM and by golly don't get caught nappin cause it comes up on you quick. So do a few of the other exits there on 29S in that stretch from the river to 501.
2 years there, plenty of opportunities, and never went even once.

OMG, we were in a SUITE! The very lap of luxury!
Someone at the church where I volunteer at the food pantry owns the suite and donated it to the pantry staff as a thank you for all we do, which was very nice.
It was pretty plush - comfy sofas and chairs in the back, tables at the front where you could eat and watch, and then we had our own little private balcony of seats to the left of home plate. Games were meh, but they're single A, so I wasn't expecting world series quality.
But the between innings entertainment was pretty funny. My favorite was the cheeseburger race. Two teams of two people. Each person dressed in a large bun costume that came down to mid-shin. The bottom buns had to run out and flop on the ground on their backs. Then the top buns had to cover them with a burger, two slices of cheese, pickles and ketchup. Once that was done, the top bun had to jump on top of the pile. Was hysterical watching the bottom buns trying to roll on their backs, and the top buns dragging sheet-sized pieces of cheese.
