Yet another shooting. This one in Richmond right before a HS graduation. Guy who was about to graduate and another dude was killed as well. Several in the hospital in serious condition. Our illustrious state attorney general makes a field trip to Richmond so that she can blame the mayor for this event saying he hasn't done enough to control gangs and get guns off the street. No condolences for the victims or witnesses of course. I guess we should just accept that this will be the new status quo - no restrictions on guns, just lame attempts to place blame on everyone but the actual shooter

And it's goddamned sad.
So how quickly can you reload a double-barreled shotgun? Cause if there's more than one bad guy, I might need to reload. Or will one shot take out two bad guys at once?

It's a good choice for most non-gun people. I've always contended that if you fire a single round into the air, 99% of intruders will flee the premises. In the unlikely event that you have come across that other 1%, you still have one shell left. Point it in the general direction of the bad guy and you'll be golden. Pro tip- Do not let a warning shot be the first time you've fired from that or any shotgun. They have a tendency to kick even with birdshot, which is what you should be using for home defense (it is less lethal and less likely to hurt anyone outside of your domicile.
Outside of your domicile is entirely different. I think that the most important thing everyone can do is to be keenly aware of their surroundings. Head on a swivel is probably going to save a lot more people than a .45 but sadly a large part of our population prefers their eyes glued to that fucking thing in their hands no matter where they are and no matter what they are doing. Or trying to do, like drive.

A .45, eh? Up close and personal.

Bob, when Rally bursts into my house in the middle of the night, I don't intend to give him the chance to get up close and personal. I want my buckshot to do that job for me

Put trees in the yard. He'll stay as far away as possible.

Would hedges work do you think? I could get the ones that look like small Christmas trees...
